Which Instagram metrics matter most when comparing accounts?
Follower count is the headline number, but it can mislead — many Instagram accounts have inflated follows. Engagement rate (likes + comments / followers per post) is the better signal of an active audience. Average likes per post and post count over time also matter when judging consistency.
Is this data live or cached?
Follower counts come from IGDataHub's continuous data collection — usually updated within the last few days. Engagement metrics are computed from a sample of each account's most recent posts. The "Updated" date on each profile's stats page shows the exact snapshot time.
What if an Instagram profile I want to compare isn't tracked yet?
We currently track 2,800+ Instagram profiles, focusing on accounts with 1,000+ followers. If a profile you want is missing, search for them in our profile lookup — if it's a public account we can usually add it within minutes.
Why does my favorite profile's engagement rate look low?
