Instagram's follower minimums

These are the minimums Instagram publishes in its Help Centre for each money feature. The follower count is the only one an outside tool can check. The rest needs your account settings, so check it in the Instagram app (professional dashboard).

How the check works

Where the follower count comes from. We use our latest reading of the account. Older readings that Instagram showed rounded ("1.4M") and readings that belong to a previous owner of the handle are left out, so the number and the gap are exact. If our reading is more than 7 days old, we fetch a new one and email the result when it lands.

Why we ask for your email. The result is emailed to you, and after you confirm, we send one progress email a month for this account: the new follower count, the change since last month, and what's left. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Meeting the minimum is not the same as getting the feature. Instagram also checks age, account type, country and policy standing, and some features roll out gradually. Your professional dashboard in the app shows what your account can turn on. See our methodology for how follower readings are collected.
