A truly wonderful project to lead as Lead Designer & Architects, with an ambitious, discerning client. Through RIBA stages 0 - 7, we’ve brought to life Three Rivers Passive House in Hertfordshire for a multi-generational family to call home for many years to come.

Delighted to see one of our latest sustainable homes, Three Rivers Passive House, featured by @wallpapermag . Working with a great consultant team, main contractor and wonderful client made it all the more worth while. As always, it speaks to our ethos of healthy, fabric-first, low-energy demand living. Recently completed, the home is Net Positive, meaning it generates more power than it uses over the course of the year. How can Britain deliver more homes without sacrificing the quality of the places people call home?
Join us at @temple_bar_london for More Homes, Better Places, a talk by @taragbolade and @lanre_gbolade, co-founding directors of @gbolade.design.studio.
Britain’s housing challenge cannot be solved by numbers alone. Drawing on their work in housing, retrofit, urban infill and masterplanning, Tara Gbolade and Lanre Gbolade will explore how place-led intensification can support more people while creating healthier, lower-carbon and more resilient neighbourhoods.
Through their People, Place, Planet approach, they will consider how we can make better use of existing buildings and land, add homes where they strengthen their surroundings, and balance repeatable solutions with the particular needs of people and place.

Every once in a while, we have amazing clients approach us with an ambitious brief. A ‘go-conquer’, ‘be-free’, ‘wow-us’ type of brief. Well, we think we’ve gone some way in doing that with CAM LOOK Passive House, Hertfordshire. Yesterday, after a 2year build programme, we had the opportunity to shoot the finished home with the wonderful and energetic @jmphotocat and drone/video team from @quayeservicesltd ….♻️🏡👷🏽♂️👷🏽♀️👷🏽♂️👷🏽♀️
Super proud of this project for a wonderful Client; delivered with a collaborative team.

Re-Imagining Urban Residential Density….in the heart of Clapham Junction, London ♻️🏡🧱👷🏽♂️👷🏽♀️👷🏽♀️👷🏼👷🏼
As the Govt maintains its ambition to deliver 1.5m new homes across UK by the end of the current term, we know that London (via estimates from the last Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment) has the capacity to generate an additional 250,000 much needed high-quality private and affordable homes from tight, complex, urban, infill sites across its boroughs.
At @gbolade.design.studio , we’re proud to be playing our part with the transformation of a derelict backland site into Mountford Mews; a boutique collection of eight sustainably designed and constructed single-story private homes, set within a tranquil, non-street frontage site, in the heart of Clapham Junction, London.
Working in close collaboration with @tetrickplanning , our client and the LPA, we’ve navigated a complex planning process, to bring forward a scheme that cleverly redefines urban residential density; showcasing a sensitive approach to infill development that prioritises liveability and community cohesion.
Currently under construction, this fossil-fuel free scheme captures innovative design strategies, sustainable materials and components that allow it to optimise limited space without sacrificing resident well-being; offering a blueprint for future city living.

This inspiring session explores the concept of regenerative places - places that go beyond sustainability to actively restore and revitalise their environments, communities, and ecosystems. Drawing from Gbolade Design Studio’s award-winning range of work in sustainable architecture and place shaping, and their insights into how innovative design and forward-thinking strategies can transform the built environment to meet the urgent challenges of our time.
Centring on regenerative principles in all aspects of the built Environment three themes will be discussed.
1. Net zero housing. Residential projects placing net-zero housing as a cornerstone of regenerative design that doesn’t compromise on quality or aesthetics
2. Placemaking and community. Mixed-use regeneration projects and urban design which integrates nature, public space and heritage to cultivate vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood, empowered communities and strong sense of place
3. Retrofitting for a Resilient Future. Retrofit project(s) that prioritise decarbonisation transform underutilised structures into energy-efficient, community-focused spaces
Gbolade Design Studio’s work demonstrates that by prioritising innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability, we can create places that not only minimise harm but actively contribute to ecological, social, and economic renewal for future generations.
