We did it, together! Thanks to you, we raised $16,947 for our ‘Expand What's Possible’ campaign, surpassing our $15,000 fundraising goal!
Throughout October, over 100 donations came in from a diverse community of supporters who believe in the power of design to bring people together.
To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and helped spread the word, THANK YOU!
Your generosity helps us continue creating opportunities for artists and designers, opening doors for emerging creative voices, and making design accessible to the public through exhibitions, installations, talks, tours, and other programming across Toronto.
While our October campaign has officially wrapped up, the work continues, and so do our fundraising efforts. Every contribution helps us keep building a creative community where more people can share ideas, discover new perspectives, and experience design.
We're so grateful to have you along for the journey. Here's to everything we'll make possible together!
Donations are always welcome. Tap link in bio to continue supporting DesignTO.

We did it! Thanks to you, we've surpassed our $15,000 fundraising goal! But we're not stopping here. Every additional donation helps us create more opportunities for artists, designers, and the public to connect through design.
For 17 years, DesignTO has brought people together through exhibitions, installations, talks, tours, and events that celebrate creativity and make design accessible across Toronto.
We create space for artists and designers to experiment, develop their ideas, and share their work, while inviting the public to discover new perspectives, engage with design, and experience the creativity happening throughout our city.
Throughout October, we've shared stories from people whose creative journeys have been shaped by DesignTO. Their experiences remind us how much is possible when we invest in creativity, community, and connection.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone, and there's still so much more we can accomplish together.
Our campaign ends October 31, and we're still welcoming donations!

What makes a creative community strong?
For Eric Mutrie @erkmu, Executive Editor at @azuremagazine, the connections created through DesignTO are part of the answer.
“I can trace so many industry connections (and friendships!) back to DesignTO events, and all of them are with smart people who have helped to broaden my perspective on design.”
For 17 years, DesignTO has brought together artists, designers, studios, galleries, businesses, venues, partners, and audiences.
Those connections help ideas travel, collaborations form, and Toronto's creative community grow stronger.
As our ‘Expand What's Possible’ Campaign enters its final days, we're asking for your support to keep building that community.

Design becomes meaningful when people can experience it.
At the DesignTO Festival, 95% of programming is free, creating opportunities for people across Toronto to encounter new ideas, perspectives, and creative practices.
“Experiencing an artist explain their own work in the gallery was an intimate moment, like diving into their mind and seeing the world through their eyes.” — Muna Muse
Increasing the public’s knowledge and appreciation of design is central to our mission as a charitable arts organization.
Your support helps us keep design experiences accessible and gives artists, designers, and audiences opportunities to meet through ideas.

New ideas need somewhere to take shape.
Through the DesignTO x @legermainhotels Toronto Mercer residency, artist and designer Shao-Chi Lin @shaochi___ developed ‘Soft Grid’, a site-specific work for the hotel's lobby.
The residency gave Shao-Chi an opportunity to experiment at a new scale and in a new context, while sharing their work with audiences beyond traditional gallery and craft spaces.
“DesignTO created a bridge that brought together my studio practice with the broader Toronto design community.”
Through residencies, exhibitions, installations, and other public programming, DesignTO creates opportunities for artists and designers to develop ambitious ideas and connect with audiences.
Help us continue making room for experimentation through ‘Expand What's Possible’.

What does it mean to preserve a home's history while reimagining how it works?
At the Roxborough Residence, architects and homeowners Cheryl Atkinson and Donald Schmitt transformed a once-grand Victorian house into a contemporary home while carefully restoring its heritage facades.
Rather than expanding the building, the transformation happened entirely within its original footprint. Through strategic subtractions and a reorganization of interior spaces, the home was opened up to new possibilities for living, working, and connecting with the surrounding landscape.
On November 21, join DesignTO for our final House Tour of 2026 and experience this remarkable transformation firsthand.
Led by Cheryl Atkinson, Donald Schmitt, and DesignTO Artistic Director Deborah Wang, the tour offers a rare opportunity to explore the home and hear the story behind its evolution.

Everyone has a first opportunity.
Shortly after graduating from university, designer Jamie Wolfond @jamiewolfond received an invitation from DesignTO Artistic Director Deborah Wang to give a talk.
It was the first time he'd ever been invited to speak publicly.
Preparing for the experience challenged Jamie to reflect on his early years as a professional, and he discovered how much he enjoyed connecting with an audience.
That first invitation encouraged him to seek out similar opportunities, something he says continues to benefit his practice today.
For 17 years, DesignTO has created opportunities for artists and designers to share their ideas, connect with audiences, and grow their practices.
Your support helps us continue opening doors for the next generation.

Sometimes an idea needs an opportunity to leave the classroom.
While completing her graduate thesis, Bianca Weeko Martin was given a platform through DesignTO to share her thesis drawings and test her ideas in a public setting.
Exhibiting her work in a storefront near Sankofa Square helped Bianca build confidence early in her multidisciplinary career and introduced her to members of Toronto's design and architecture community.
Those connections have continued to influence her practice, including collaborations that remain part of her professional network today.
For Bianca, DesignTO creates a rare space where artists and designers are encouraged to experiment and share ideas beyond conventional settings.
Your support helps us continue creating those opportunities.
