Hearing opens the door to connection, confidence, and possibility.
Every hearing device provided represents a chance for a child to hear a parent’s voice, a teacher’s lesson, a friend’s laughter, and so much more.
Together, we can make sure more children have the opportunity to be heard and understood.

From Hearing Loss to Paralympic Glory.
When Edwin Advincula visited our Aftercare Service in Baguio to have his hearing aids checked and batteries replaced, we had the opportunity to hear more about his remarkable journey.
Edwin, 46, from Pangasinan, was born with hearing loss. His parents and teachers first noticed his difficulty hearing when he was in kindergarten. He received his first hearing aids in Grade 4, but they didn’t last, leaving him without the support he needed.
In 2015, a friend connected Edwin with Starkey Hearing Foundation, and the following year, he received a new pair of hearing aids. With the gift of sound came new opportunities.
That same year, Edwin tried out for competitive table tennis. Years of dedication and training eventually earned him a place representing the Philippines in Indonesia in 2025, where he proudly brought home a bronze medal.
Today, Edwin is preparing to compete again in Malaysia in 2026 while also coaching young athletes and sharing his experience with the next generation.
Edwin’s journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when determination meets opportunity. Sometimes, helping someone hear isn’t simply about restoring sound. It’s about giving them the chance to pursue everything they’re capable of.

From the emotion of hearing a sound she has waited so long to hear, to the smile that follows, moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
For someone who has lived with hearing loss, the impact of hearing again goes far beyond sound. It can mean reconnecting with loved ones, participating in conversations, hearing laughter, and experiencing the everyday moments so many of us take for granted.
A hearing aid may be a small device, but the difference it can make in someone's life is extraordinary. It can restore confidence, strengthen relationships, and open doors to a world of connection that may have felt out of reach.
And while that first reaction is something we never tire of witnessing, what matters most is everything that comes after it. The conversations, relationships, and opportunities that become possible again.
That is the lasting impact of hearing. And it's why we remain committed to helping people around the world reconnect with the sounds and people that matter most.

When Bill Austin founded Starkey Hearing Foundation, his vision was rooted in a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to hear and connect with the world around them.
That belief became a promise: So the World May Hear.
Today, that vision continues to guide our work as we expand access to hearing healthcare, train local professionals, and build sustainable hearing healthcare systems that serve communities for generations.
Every person reached, every professional trained, and every community empowered brings us closer to fulfilling that promise.
The work continues. The promise remains.

At just 3 years old, Aron was missing out on many of the sounds most children take for granted, including the sound of his mother's voice.
Living in Santa Ana, El Salvador, Aron struggled with conductive hearing loss, making it difficult to communicate, develop his speech, and fully connect with the world around him.
That began to change when Starkey Hearing Foundation fitted him with a bone conduction hearing device. Unlike traditional hearing aids, this technology sends sound vibrations through the bones of the skull directly to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear where his hearing loss occurs.
The moment Aron heard his mother's voice clearly, his expression said it all. What started as surprise quickly turned into a beautiful smile and laughter.
Today, Aron is making wonderful progress. He proudly wears his hearing device, continues developing his speech, and is discovering new ways to communicate with the people he loves.
For Aron, hearing isn't just about discovering new sounds. It's about having the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with the world around him.
And at just 3 years old, his journey is only beginning.
So the World May Hear.

Sometimes, hearing a loved one’s voice can make all the difference.
For Ofelia Banalo, 67, gradual hearing loss made conversations harder. Over time, she began pulling away from the people and moments that mattered most.
In 2016, Starkey Hearing Foundation provided Ofelia with her first hearing aids, helping her reconnect with family, friends, and everyday life.
Nearly 10 years later, after an accident damaged her hearing aids, Ofelia returned to us for support.
In 2025, she was fit with new hearing aids and once again able to hear the conversations, laughter, and voices of the people she loves.
Ofelia’s story is also a reminder of why aftercare matters. Hearing healthcare is not a single moment. It is an ongoing relationship that helps people stay connected to their families, communities, and the world around them.
On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we recognize the power of human connection and the role hearing can play in reducing isolation and helping people feel included.
So the World May Hear.

Today, we celebrate the teachers who do more than educate. They inspire, empower, and help create lasting change.
On World Teachers’ Day, we recognize the dedicated educators at Starkey Hearing Institute Latin America in El Salvador, Starkey Hearing Institute Asia Pacific in the Philippines, and Starkey Hearing College in Zambia, who are preparing the next generation of hearing healthcare professionals.
Their impact extends far beyond the classroom.
Every student trained brings new opportunities to a community. Every graduate who returns home carries the knowledge and skills to help more people hear, connect, and participate fully in the world around them.
This is how we build lasting change, by investing in people who will continue making a difference for generations to come.
To our educators around the world, thank you for sharing not only your knowledge, but your compassion and commitment to helping others.
So the World May Hear.
