Onze Birthday Week kruipt nu wel heel dichtbij! 🥳
Volgende week bezetten we niet alleen de Kleine Zaal met een expositie over 20 jaar Nadar Ensemble, en de Theaterstudio van @desingelartscentre met concerten en schoolvoorstellingen. Ook in Studio 3 staat er heel wat te gebeuren;
Op dinsdag 10.11 zullen onze artistiek leider, @pietermatthynssens en onze zakelijk leider @robingooss de studenten van het @royalconservatoireantwerp inspireren met hun talk ‘Curating an Ensemble’.
Op zaterdag zwieren we tussen 15-17u de deuren open voor een ARTIST TALK met @mlchael.beil @prinsstefan @louisdheudieres.

Our Birthday Week is coming closer! 🥳
Next week, we’re taking over the ‘Kleine Zaal’ with an exhibition to celebrate 20 years of Nadar Ensemble, as well as the the ‘Theaterstudio’ at @desingelartscentre with concerts and school performances. But there is more. We’ll be organizing some talks in Studio 3 too ;
On Tuesday, November 10, our artistic director, @pietermatthynssens, and our executive director, @robingooss, will inspire students from the @royalconservatoireantwerp with their talk “Curating an Ensemble.”
On Saturday, from 3:00–5:00 p.m., we’ll be opening our doors for an ARTIST TALK with @mlchael.beil, @prinsstefan, and @louisdheudieres.

📱 Altijd online. Nooit alleen. En toch… alleen?
Alle leerkrachten en ouders herkennen dit ongetwijfeld in de gesprekken met hun kinderen.
In het kader van hun 20ste verjaardag speelt Nadar 2 schoolvoorstellingen van hun internationale succesvoorstelling 𝑯𝑰𝑫𝑬 𝑻𝑶 𝑺𝑯𝑶𝑾 in DE SINGEL. Met het centrale thema digitale eenzaamheid duikt deze voorstelling midden in de leefwereld van jongeren.
Want wat gebeurt er wanneer schermen ons voortdurend met elkaar verbinden, maar echte verbinding soms net moeilijker wordt? Wanneer likes, berichten en online aanwezigheid niet genoeg zijn om je gezien of gehoord te voelen?
𝑯𝑰𝑫𝑬 𝑻𝑶 𝑺𝑯𝑶𝑾 onderzoekt die spanning tussen jezelf tonen en jezelf verbergen, tussen verbonden zijn en alleen zijn. Een thema dat sterk resoneert met jongeren en dat uitnodigt om er samen over te praten.
Muziekcentrum De Bijloke ontwikkelde samen Bas Matthynssens ook een educatief pakket voor leerkrachten, waarmee je voor of na de voorstelling in de klas verder aan de slag kan.

PODI Project in ZKM Next Generation!
We had an amazing week in Karlsruhe as part of the @zkmkarlsruhe NEXT GENERATION Festival!
The project alumni @andresquezada__ and @szymonwojcik__________ presented their 3D works as part of the fetival. The new participants joined us for the festival, attending workshop rehearsals and concerts.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in NEXT GENERATION. With all of these new Impulses we're excited to keep moving forward and continue working on the project with full energy!

HIDE TO SHOW
For 8 performers with live-video and tape 🎥
Hide to show is about being alone, but syncing with others without seeing them, about being observed by others, making yourself visible or not and about replacing yourself in many ways. The spotlights are put on the backstage area while the musicians prepare for the performance in front of the audience, each alone in their private little room. They play a few notes, change clothes or dance to the music in their headphones. Not only the movements of the musicians on stage are considered as musical material, Beil’s list of artistic ingredients now also includes their actions in the seclusion of the backstage area. But we don’t get to see everything. The musicians hide behind their costumes, curtains that go up and down and recordings of themselves, so that the real person remains invisible after all. A parallel with social media is quickly made. Hide to show is about hyperreality, how we put virtual layers on our lives, how we copy and paste into our so-called reality.

𝗔 𝗹’𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 : Nadar - Hide to Show | Semaine du Neuf
Hide to Show explore l’hyperréalité, la manière dont nous superposons des couches virtuelles à nos vies, dont nous copions et collons dans ce que nous appelons notre réalité.
Les projecteurs se tournent vers les coulisses, tandis que les musicien·nes se préparent pour la performance devant le public, chacun·e seul·e dans sa petite pièce privée. Ils jouent quelques notes, changent de vêtements ou dansent sur la musique qu’ils écoutent au casque. Ce ne sont pas seulement les mouvements des musicien·nes sur scène qui sont considérés comme du matériau musical : la liste des ingrédients artistiques de Beil inclut désormais leurs actions dans l’intimité des coulisses. Mais tout ne nous est pas donné à voir.
Les musicien·nes se dissimulent derrière leurs costumes, des rideaux qui montent et descendent, ou encore des enregistrements d’eux-mêmes, si bien que la véritable personne demeure finalement invisible. Le parallèle avec les réseaux sociaux s’impose rapidement.
Hide to show évoque l’isolement, mais aussi la synchronisation avec les autres sans les voir; être observé·e, choisir de se rendre visible ou non, et se remplacer soi-même de multiples façons.

This week @risamatsushima24 has performed one of my oldest pieces in her final exam at the @hfmt_koeln . I didn‘t hear it for so many years. And it was an amazing and prefect version of “und neun ist eins”. And it was a big pleasure :) she also performed a great work by her teacher Kai Wessel and the 30 minutes Klavierlied by Lachenmann. Such a great concert!
