If this is you, let’s talk 💛
Being a survivor of religious harm, purity culture or sexual trauma can feel so isolating; it’s helpful to know that we aren’t alone.
Send me a message if this resonates and we can find you the support you need - whether it be from me or another practitioner or resource.
We can figure this out together.

Took a big trip down memory lane and dug up some old photos for this one. 🥹
Even through the moments that were hard and heartbreaking, I’m so grateful to be at the place I am now.
I share this so that if you’ve been on a similar journey, you may feel less alone. 💛
Healing is possible.
Freedom in your body is possible.
Erotic Wholeness and Sexual Liberation is possible.
All this goodness is waiting in your body. Waiting for you to come home and claim it. 💛

Jesus was a feminist. I will not be elaborating. My TEDx talk from 2016 is on their website and official YouTube if you want to learn more or argue more.
My point being - as a feminist, Jesus was clear on how sxxual sin and sxxual violence should be handled.
And it wasn’t a fking essay. Or “boys will be boys”. Or the burden of proof placed on the victim. Or prioritizing his “potential” over her trauma.
Jesus stood unequivocally for accountability for the perpetrator(s).

Revolution is rising all around us. Revolution is defying the norms that keeps us isolated and whispering remembrance of our connection to one another.
For the past seven years that I have been facilitating women’s circles, this one truth has stood steadfast amongst the cage that is our current world structure - THE CIRCLE IS THE REVOLUTION and the body knows it to be so.
Because in the circle we remember that we belong together.
That hope is defiance.
That survival is a community project.
That community happens around shared tables of food.
That art and conversation keep us nourished.
That we cannot do this alone.
Nor are we meant to.
And this is why we set the table each month. This is why people open their homes. This is why we simmer soup and chop garden veggies, pour tea and light candles.
Because it is what our ancestors have been doing since the dawn of time.
Because coming together is how we remember to be human.
And that is revolutionary in a world that wants to be a slave to the machine, slave to profit, slave to the billionaire elites, slave to racism, slave to judgement, slave to walls that divide.
In our circle, we talk decolonization, matriarchy, embodiment and collective care. We shake ass, make friendship bracelets and talk sxx ed. In our circle, we light candles for the women and femmes who have gone before and we sign petitions for human rights violations in our neighborhood and around the world. In our circle, we examine our own layers of privilege and consider what it looks like to walk in each other shoes. In our circle, we shed shame and self-judgement and every patriarchal conditioning that sought to tame the untamed woman.
I’m so grateful for this community and what we are building here in the world.
If this is the world you long for too, come join us. We are making more room at the table for you 💛

ARTIST SUBMISSIONS OPEN: Desire is an artist showcase exploring longing, aliveness, and the wisdom held in our bodies. The things we reach for. The things that call us closer. Pleasure. Curiosity. Attraction. Intimacy. The desire we name freely and those we were taught to silence, fear, or feel ashamed of.
Desire invites us to come home to ourselves: to heal from the messages of shame, reclaim sexual wholeness, and listen to our bodies without judgment. It asks us to explore the difference between what we have been told we should want and what is genuinely ours. To honour consent, not simply as permission, but as an embodied practice of choice, boundaries, communication, and mutuality.
This event is an opportunity for artists, and all of us, to explore desire through the lens of personal sovereignty: the freedom to want, to not want, to change our minds, to experience pleasure, and to belong fully to ourselves.
It is a space to consider desire not as something that needs to be controlled or justified, but as something we can meet with curiosity, presence, and reclamation.
What do you want?

I’ll wear a bikini and dance in the waves if I want to 💛 These days deconstructing faith looks like dancing in the waves and having my birthday party at the beach with some of my favourite people.
Healing has to include joy too, friends.

It could be this easy. This accessible. This normalized to ask questions, to learn about how your body works, to take back the things that society has made taboo.
Because pleasure and body literacy aren’t taboo - they are essential education.
Back in May, my women’s circle explored the topic of *self-pleasure * and brought in our friend sxx educator @ashleywardhall for a night of empowering, adult conversation.
It was the most incredible evening. And yet, it made me sad to think of how different our world could be if we had more safe spaces to hold real education and learn in an empowering, shame-free way.
So we undo the harms of purity culture with real, honest, empowering education.
I am soooo grateful that Reclamation Women’s Circle exists and forever honoured that so many incredible women & femmes show up every month to learn something new with me.
If you want to join us in September, send me a DM and I’ll give you more information.

You’ve probably heard things said like “loving yourself is a political act” or “self love is revolution” — but do you know why? @misstarateng takes us through the ways patriarchy weaponizes bodies, and all the ways living in your body with more intention can be a revolutionary act.
Listen now on Girl Moss Podcast 🎤 find it in our b10!

Literally no one’s stopping you when hell isn’t even real.
Yet the biggest struggle I see so many of my clients wrestling with is giving themselves permission to let go and live their lives after high control religion.
That religious trauma hits so deep that even after deconstructing, all the layers of shame, repression, judgement and fear continue to live on in the nervous system… even if your brain doesn’t believe the doctrine to be true anymore.
“Is this skirt too short?”
“Can I trust my own understanding?”
“What will people think?”
“Can I wear a bikini?”
“Will I be tarnished if I have sxx?”
“What if I fall down a slippery slope?”
Have you been there too? All the old conditioning keeps replaying in your choices, even after you’ve read all the books, listened to the podcasts and recontexualized all the scriptures and you don’t believe them anymore.
And the wild thing is that so many of us, after deconstructing, grieve the lives we missed out on while in purity culture and high control religion, but now that we are out … we’re still afraid of the eternal punishment and treating it as though it is real.
Because our nervous system doesn’t know what it feels like to let go…yet.
Just the other day, I sat with one of my clients who *understood* how her trauma was keeping her small in her life but she needed to learn that lesson somatically so that the freedom could land in her nervous system and give her the permission to take up space again.
And THIS is the power of somatic healing.
Time to stop letting religion control your life.
Time to take back your power. 🔥
If this resonates, my next book is going to explore how to reclaim your sexiest, juiciest, most embodied sxx after religious trauma. Stay tuned.
