A few unique things I have in my home! After 40 years practicing medicine, I’ve experimented with a lot of different things—Lots of curiosity and trial and error. I’ve always been my own guinea pig and I think it’s so important to make our homes a sanctuary! Whatever that looks like for each person. The environment we create shapes how our cells function. 🌞🌞🌞

We are completely connected to nature. 🐚🌙

I often hear, “Cancer was the wake-up call I needed.” The reality is that cancer (and symptoms in general) can be an error-correcting mechanism. They force you to address what you’ve ignored. Cells are constantly responding to new environments, they can return to their normal state, and tumor growth can be restrained. But we have to do the work to change the environment that allowed cancer to thrive first and foremost. ⠀

One of my favorite things to recommend to patients is a warm bath before bed 🛁🫧
My recipe:
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 1 cup baking soda
- ¼ cup magnetic clay
We often underestimate how important relaxation is to our health. I encourage patients to use this time for meditation, prayer, deep breathing, or just being still. Even 15–20 minutes without screens, distractions, or the demands of everyday life can make a difference in how we feel.
A big part of healing is giving the body an opportunity to rest and recover. We spend so much time thinking about what we need to add to our health routines, but sometimes we need to focus on slowing down.

A few of my most controversial health opinions!
1. Every organ serves a purpose. Removing the gallbladder or tonsils unnecessarily can have long-term consequences. The gallbladder plays an important role in storing and releasing bile for digestion, while the tonsils are part of our immune system. Although removing these organs is sometimes medically necessary, surgery should never be treated as a decision without trade-offs. I believe in understanding why an organ is causing problems and exploring appropriate alternatives before considering removal.
2. Aspirin is safer a option than Tylenol for many patients. Aspirin and Tylenol work differently. Aspirin has anti-inflammatory and antiplatelet effects, while Tylenol primarily reduces pain and fever. Tylenol can cause serious liver damage when taken in excessive amounts. In fact, Tylenol is the number one cause of liver failure in the US. The right choice depends on the patient’s health and medical history
3. Breast implants can be harmful to your health. Breast implants are not without risk. Some women experience complications such as capsular contracture, implant rupture, and systemic symptoms often described as breast implant illness. Certain types of implants have also been linked to rare cancers, including breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Women deserve to understand these potential risks before undergoing surgery.
4. Not all cancers are deadly, and some don’t require immediate treatment. A cancer diagnosis does not always mean aggressive treatment is the best next step. Certain cancers, particularly low-risk prostate and thyroid cancers, may grow so slowly that active surveillance is preferable to immediate surgery or radiation. The biology, stage, and aggressiveness of a cancer should guide treatment decisions, not simply the presence of a diagnosis.

Hyperthermia is a non-toxic cancer treatment that works by gently heating tumor tissue usually to around 105–113°F to weaken or destroy cancer cells. It’s been under investigation for decades, and modern advancements now allow for precise temperature control and targeting.
Hyperthermia is especially promising because it leaves healthy tissue unaffected. Cancer cells are more sensitive to heat due to poor blood flow and limited ability to repair damage. This means hyperthermia can selectively weaken tumors. It’s also known to improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation.
At the center, we offer hyperthermia therapy! To learn more or schedule a consultation, call (949) 680-1880 or visit cfnmedicine.com/contact 🌡️🔥

One of my favorite wellness staples that’s been around for thousands of years: castor oil.🌿
Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, a unique fatty acid known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
It’s one of the things I use in the clinic every day and talk about in my book. I call it the wonder oil because there are so many ways to incorporate it into your routine, and it’s something I frequently recommend to my patients.
Here’s how I use mine:
1. Apply the oil: Add about 1–2 tablespoons of organic, cold-pressed castor oil to the soft cotton side of the pack.
2. Wrap it up: Place the pack over your abdomen, breasts, thyroid, etc. with the oiled side against your skin, and secure it comfortably.
3. Get cozy: Find a comfortable place to lie down, put your phone away, and allow yourself to relax.
4. Let it work: Start with 30 minutes and gradually work up to an hour if it feels comfortable.
5. Clean up: Remove the pack and gently wipe away any excess oil. *Please note the oil can stain*
I like to make this a little evening ritual, a time to unwind and give my body some extra care. I also always make sure to look for dark glass packaging and hexane-free processing. I use @elhamcastoroil and have a code: ConnealyMD for a discount! 🤍

Many studies have shown that time in nature (exposure to light, greenery, water) helps the body repair faster (PMID: 37711353). It is likely due to what the body perceives-an ancient signal that feels familiar, predictable, and safe.
Safety is a very important factor when we’re healing. When there is constant tension, fear, or pressure, the body stays in a state of holding on. When there is trust, connection, and a sense of peace, the body behaves differently.
We tend to separate the mind from the body, but they are constantly informing each other. The environment you live in, internally and externally, shape how your body allocates energy, whether it stays guarded or allows repair to happen.
These are not things that are easily measured, but they are always present, and over time they influence the direction of health. ❤️🩹

I normally work from around 7am-7pm researching, seeing patients, meeting with team, prepping treatments, etc., so I’m so grateful to have a husband who cooks dinner for me! ❤️ Another one of my favs🥗🥔🥩

Breast cancer: what are the first signs? 💗
No one knows your body better than you. If something feels off, it’s important to be your own advocate. #breastcancerawareness

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, I wanted to share a few thoughts about what I wish every woman knew about breast cancer.
There are still so many misconceptions surrounding hormones, screening, treatment, and prevention. And unfortunately, breast cancer rates continue to rise.
Every breast cancer is different, and every woman deserves an individualized approach to her care.
I’ve seen time and again in my practice that we need a new approach. We need to look beyond the tumor and address the whole person. If we want to truly help women heal, reduce the risk of recurrence, and prevent breast cancer in the first place, we need to rethink how we approach this disease.
To every woman currently facing breast cancer, every survivor, and everyone who has lost a loved one to this disease, I’m sending you love, strength, and lasting healing. 💗💗💗
If you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer or are looking to take a proactive approach to prevention, please call our team at 949-680-1880. 💕
