PART 2 - felt like sharing this acoustic version of ADAI. I wrote this song 11 years ago. Actually, I think I wrote it in 2014 so 12 years ago. Released it for the first time 5 years ago. No one understood the title…ADAI. I tweaked a couple of things, sped up the tempo and re released it a couple of weeks ago with a title that is easier to understand… ADAI (After Artificial Intelligence) I think the song is more timely and relevant now than it was then. I wrote this song 12 years ago while staring at a mountain named Mt. Olympus that I had become very inspired by while living in Salt Lake City. I had (have?) an unexplainable connection to that mountain, and would receive incredible downloads when I tuned into it. Most of the songs I wrote in this state (both physical and spiritual) were about the plight of humanity and its constant battle with itself (aka our constant battle with one another?) Heavy subject matter, I know. But I’ve never been one to keep shit light. Anyway, AI was just becoming a hot topic then. It was mostly speculations that seemed batshit crazy and SciFi fantastical. But it led me to thinking about AI in a broader and even primordial sense. I am NOT religious. But I am spiritual and as an outsider of observed religions looking in, I can’t help but to think it’s all the same story, written in different languages and different books, with more similarities than differences. And one of these similarities is that we were all created in God’s image. So I started to think about humans playing God in creating AI, and how we have created this thing in our image. And how we’re so amazed and proud of this creation, but how horrified we are at this creation taking on a life of its own and threatening our humanity. And here we are 12 years later. And all of these things I talked about in that 12 year old song have become a reality. I released it in a slower BPM five years ago. It got some streams and some good reviews but even 5 years ago, AI hadn’t become something we feel threatened by. The song is relevant right now so I bumped up the BPM, remastered it, and I’m releasing it back into the world on September 24th (World Quantum Readiness Day) Seredipitously, it is the SAME DAY I released it 5 years ago. THAT is some psychic synchronized Maya magic that I just cannot explain. ✨✨✨ Lead the way. Here today. Remembering my baby brother Jeff. Two years today since his passing. I miss our talks about music and artists on the rise, about stocks and crypto, about social and racial injustice. I miss our script ideas, and song ideas. I miss hearing him walking around always with a song and a rap. And who knew I would actually miss getting my ass absolutely pulverized in Scrabble by him?
