Today marks a monumental moment in my life, and I want to share it with you all. I am incredibly proud to announce that I have secured the rights to all intellectual property for my nonprofit foundation @projectpowerbykc . I founded Project Power with the vision of making a meaningful impact on the lives of as many teenage girls as possible. I remember hating PE growing up and feeling uncomfortable in PE kits. SO WHY NOT CHANGE IT! For the past two years, we’ve been dedicated to providing teenage girls in UK schools with proper activewear, including sports bras that nearly 40% of them don’t own one and often feel uncomfortable while trying to be active. This year, we aim to gift a big 30,000 units of activewear to those in need. I also noticed that the physical education curriculum is often dull and outdated. With the collaboration of some amazing personal trainers, we have already empowered nearly 10,000 teenage girls to engage in fitness, and we aren’t stopping there! We’re also working on an online portal designed to keep girls active and inspired…there’s so much more to accomplish! While I celebrate these achievements, I want to emphasise something critical…the importance of owning your work. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced significant challenges in business. I’ve been taken advantage of by others, including co-founders who have claimed credit for the hard work I poured my heart and soul into. I’ve often stayed silent, worried about being labeled an “emotional female founder.” But how can I advocate for young girls if I’m not in control of my own projects? Doors open to our beautiful community on 7th November where you’ll be able to shop our exclusive NYC edition and so much more. I wanted the first store to be inspired by a real life walk in wardrobe. An activewear dream. Every detail is intentional from the duality of the stainless steal that embodies strength paired with the transparent resin that symbolises femininity and sensuality. The duality of women in a true form. Stepping into the store you will find the most perfect lighting in every corner and in the fit check rooms which are intimate and personal to you. I was incredibly passionate about making an official ONER scent. Working with incredible people in Italy to bring you a brand scent that will be memorable for life. Each element isn’t rushed. This took 6 years to build and finally be ready to bring to you. A special thank you to my incredible Retail Director Jonathan Goodman, and Head of Architecture and Store Planning Tom Elliott my Visual Creative Director Jessica Wells and of course my Design Director and right hand girl Vikki Dixey for helping my bring the NYC edition to life. Finally to Harmo design duo, who brought my entire vision to life and was so patient with every change I made ever 5 minutes. I’m sorry. 6 years ago I launched ONER. I was 26 years old at the time. Looking back at the first ever YouTube video we posted, I feel so emotional knowing that 26 year old me had no idea what was about to come her way. Truly this brand would be nothing without its people and its community. The people behind the scenes who have taken that 26 years old girls vision and made it even bigger than she could ever imagine. The community of women who choose to ONER their bodies daily in ONER and looking hot AF doing so. I’m excited to bring you on the next chapter of ONER….
