6 years ago, I came to Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺chasing a better life with just $1,000 in my account, barely any English, no experience, and no real network.
I didn’t have a clear plan—I had belief, resilience, and the willingness to take risks even when I was scared. Somehow, step by step, I figured it out.
Along the way, I’ve learned that when you grow, life grows with you. None of this happened by accident. Doors didn’t just open for me—I built new ones through consistency, hard work, and faith in myself when it would’ve been easier to quit.
And now, this season feels like everything I once prayed for is finally arriving.
If you’re at the beginning, feeling behind, lost, or unsure, REMEMBER this: I started with almost nothing and still found my way. Keep going. Trust the process. Your season will come.
Love,
Genio

Mie Goreng Indonesia - Indonesian Fried Noodles
Ingredients:
200g egg noodles
100g of chicken breast
100g of shrimp
2 tbsp of vegetable oil
2 eggs (scrambled)
2 tbsp of sweet soy sauce
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
1 tbsp of fish sauce
2 tbsp of sambal (Indonesian chili paste)
1 cup of cabbage (shredded)
1/2 cup of bean sprouts
A little bit of yum yum
Blended spices:
1 red onion
3 garlic cloves
3 large red chilies
1 tbsp of terasi or shrimp paste
1/2 tsp of cumin powder
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of coriander powder
For Garnish:
Crackers
Fried shallots
Spring onions
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Spice Paste:
In a blender or mortar and pestle, grind together the red chilies, garlic, brown onion, turmeric, coriander, cumin, and shrimp paste (if using) into a smooth paste.
2. Cook the Noodles:
Boil the yellow noodles according to the package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
3. Stir-fry the Proteins:
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken or shrimp and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
4. Stir-fry the Spice Paste:
In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the spice paste and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
5. Scramble the Eggs:
Push the spice paste to one side of the wok. Pour the beaten eggs into the other side and scramble until cooked through.
6. Combine the Noodles:
Add the cooked noodles to the wok. Toss everything together to coat the noodles in the spice paste and scrambled eggs.
7. Season the Dish:
Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss everything to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste. If you want more heat, add additional fresh chili or chili paste.
8. Add Vegetables:
Add the bean sprouts, cabbage, and cooked chicken or shrimp back into the wok. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
