A special evening on stage at the @metopera! 🎭 I was delighted to make a surprise cameo in Puccini’s La Bohème, stepping into the role of the chef and owner of the bustling Café Momus during Act II.
Set in Paris’s Latin Quarter, the scene brings the café to life with waiters, diners, street vendors, and the arrival of Musetta, who captivates the crowd with her celebrated aria, “Quando me’n vo’” Musetta’s Waltz. A wonderful celebration of Parisian life, music, and the performing arts!
With the newly opened @brasseriebouludnyc just across the street from Lincoln Center, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious French pre-theater menu before a magical evening of opera.
Bravo and heartfelt thanks to the entire Met Opera team for the opportunity to make my stage debut in La Bohème. What a privilege to be part of this extraordinary production!

Celebrate fall at Le Gratin with the November Plat du Mois!🍁
The Pithivier de Canard et Foie Gras, a beloved staple of French savory pastry, is known for its golden, flaky puff pastry and rich, flavorful filling. Our Pithivier brings together tender duck, foie gras, and mushroom farce, wrapped in delicate puff pastry and served with a truffle-Madeira jus.
Watch as Chef @danielboulud and Chef @julesrecoquillon share a closer look at this French classic and the craftsmanship behind its preparation.
Paired with a glass of Château Langoa Barton 2018 Saint-Julien, it makes for a perfect autumn indulgence.
À bientôt!🍷🥧

What does a lasting legacy in hospitality look like? For @danielboulud, it’s measured as much by the people he’s lifted up as by the restaurants he’s built.
In our latest profile story, Boulud reflects on arriving in New York in 1982, winning his first James Beard Award, mentoring the next generation of chefs, and what it means to be this year's honoree for our Gala for Good.

Lapérouse turned 260 and celebrated across the Atlantic, at Daniel in New York.
Two French chefs, Daniel Boulud and Romain Fornell. One table.
Château d’Yquem, Champagne, our legendary Beef Wellington, served at Lapérouse to Winston Churchill in 1940, and a chocolate soufflé made at Lapérouse since 1766.
« Lapérouse – A Parisian Icon » was brought to life and honoured by the very presence of Martine and Prosper Assouline.
Thank you to Daniel Boulud, Rodolphe and Maggie Taittinger, Château d’Yquem, and every guest who made New York feel like Paris for one night.

It was an honor to be part of the Gala de @lallianceny at @theplazahotel last Thursday, cooking alongside my dear friend, Chef @lallement_arnaud from @assiettechampenoise, and fellow @mcfusa chefs @chefpierrelandet, @chef_eric64, and @chef_pascal58th.
With creative direction by @tarakhattarofficial of @maisontarastudio and featured artwork by @bilalhamdad, the gala brought together cuisine, artistry, and philanthropy in celebration of the enduring connection between French-speaking cultures and American life.
Hosted by @tatyanafranck, the evening was filled with wonderful moments. Congratulations to @marioncotillard, recipient of the Trophée des Arts, and Pierre Donnersberg, recipient of the Trophée de L’Alliance. A special mention to @zoeclauzure for her beautiful interpretation of La Vie en rose, and to @kungs for a fantastic after-party!
I was especially delighted to be part of this celebration, which raised an extraordinary $2.3 million thanks to the generosity of its donators, in support of L’Alliance’s mission to promote the French language and Francophone culture through education and the arts.

Ahhh, Daniel ! Every time I come to New York, he’s got a new place to show me! And this time, America’s most famous French chef has decided to make the very best of French gastronomy a little more accessible, in a huge, buzzing brasserie. Think big tables, great food, good friends, and all the joy of a proper French feast… without having to mortgage your apartment!
The menu is basically a greatest-hits parade of French comfort food, often with that little touch of Daniel-style luxury.
Escargots, pâté en croûte, leeks vinaigrette, a perfectly runny egg with mayo and aioli, baked clams… and let’s not forget this absolute banger of a lobster soufflé, a dish Daniel was already making back in his Lyon days!
For the mains, there’s a gorgeous coq au vin, just what we need as winter approaches, and a gloriously naughty pig’s trotter that might shake up a few New Yorkers!
And to wash it all down? Some fabulous wines, with a serious soft spot for the region where Daniel was born. Oh man, that jeroboam of Saint-Amour was something else!
Still got room for dessert? There are beautiful French flans and cream puffs waiting for you. But for me, the absolute showstopper was this incredible frozen grapefruit with rose Turkish delight, halva floss and sesame.
With this latest embassy of French gastronomy, 100% approved by the Ministry of FrenchFood, Daniel looks set to keep his crown as the King of New York for a very long time!
