My film In the Veins (2026) will be screening at MCA Chicago @mcachicago on November 10th at 6pm, along with Trisha Baga’s @trishabag film MORE (2025). A talk between Trisha, film curator and scholar Bruce Jenkins, and myself, moderated by visiting curator CJ Salapare @cj.salapare, will take place following the screening. “Baga and Henrot—whose work Grosse Fatigue (2013) is in the MCA’s collection—are renowned for their singular approaches to the moving image: scintillating in structure, omnivorous in subject, and at once whimsical and prophetic in effect. Their newest works grapple with the realities of artificial intelligence, climate change, and mass extinction and the uncertainties these usher into our present.” Immense gratitude to my brilliant friend CJ whose conversations have inspired and supported my thoughts since the day I met him almost 4 years ago. Tickets are in my bio. If you are in Chicago, I would love to see you! @mennour @hauserwirth @estherschippergallery 04 Nov 2026 I am honored to announce my sculpture 73 / 37 (Abacus) (2024) has been acquired by The Museum of Modern Art @themuseumofmodernart. Thank you to Mennour, Hauser & Wirth, and Esther Schipper galleries. The sculpture is currently on view at @themuseumofmodernart Floor 2, 215 and in “Paper Planes” @copenhagen_contemporary curated by Marie Laurberg @marie_laurberg and Helga Just Christoffersen @helgachristoffersen. The wide range of inspirations that informs her vision spans literature, second-hand marketplaces, poetry, cartoons, manga, social media, self-help, and, ultimately, the banality of everyday life. Henrot is interested in systems of rules, structures, and codes of conduct – and how to break them. Her practice speaks with clarity and humor, humility and bravery, about the complexity of being a private individual and citizen in a globalized and overstimulated world. For more information, follow the link in bio. _________________________ #estherschipper #contemporaryart #friezelondon #camillehenrot 1: Portrait: Camille Henrot. Quite a lot, according to Camille Henrot. In our latest interview, the artist and her collaborators, writers Estelle Hoy and Justine Gelfman, spoke to Lyndsy Welgos about the wildly diverse influences behind the recent staging in New York of Henrot’s play Commedia dell’arte, originally commissioned by @performanyc , @aspenartmuseum Aspen Art Museum, Wheeler Opera House, and @lyra.foundation LYRA Art Foundation. Commedia dell’arte is her first-ever live stage performance, co-commissioned by Performa, Aspen Art Museum/Wheeler Opera House, and LYRA Art Foundation, which premiered this summer at Aspen Art Museum’s AIR Festival. Henrot’s performance incorporates the stock characters and comic ploys of the Italian Renaissance theatrical tradition within a modern-day New York City apartment building. The delivery of a package triggers a cascade of uncanny events among tenants, as the tragi-comedic play attempts to make sense out of the senseless, ultimately collapsing into it. In collaboration with writers Estelle Hoy and Justine Gelfman, set designer Adam Charlap Hyman of Charlap, Hyman & Herrero, choreographer Sigrid Lauren, composers Mauro Hertig and Aaron David Ross, costume designer Sandra Berrebi, and many others, the piece swings between absurdity and sharp social commentary. Don’t miss the chance to see Henrot’s first-ever live work in our Florence Gould Theater (Sept 23-26). 🎟️ Tickets in bio @est_elle_hoy____ @justinegelfman @mauro_hertig @aarondavidross @adamcharlaphyman @ch_herrero @sandraberrebi @hi_its_bobbi @xtina_catherine @isaaaspector @tartar.biz @mayamargaritayes @_amanforallseasons @yocactus @eliza__ryan @_sigridlauren @roseleegoldberg @aspenartmuseum @tatyanafranck 11 Sep 2026 Now on view in New York: ‘Camille Henrot: Dogs’ at @centralparknyc. Marking Henrot’s (@coelocanthe) first public exhibition in New York, the presentation introduces a group of sculptures of leashed dogs, each with its own distinct presence, mirroring the many shapes, sizes and temperaments of canine companions found across the city. Doris C. Freedman Plaza, Central Park. Link in bio to plan your visit. @publicartfund 11 Sep 2026 🔥 Hot take: We don’t deserve dogs. But apparently we deserve Camille Henrot’s version of them, and that’s close enough. Her first public exhibition in New York City with and thanks to @publicartfund just opened at the Central Park entrance, and it’s a pack of sculptures (bronze, stone, steel, concrete… different textures and materials) built from the strangest, most perfect mix of references: Saul Steinberg’s line drawings, Tex Avery cartoons, ancient Egyptian sculpture, dog show competitions. Somehow all of that adds up to something that feels less like public art and more like an offering, a tribute ❣️ 🐕 @coelocanthe ‘s whole practice (painting, drawing, film, sculpture) circles the invisible ties that bind us: attachment, dependency, what it means to belong to someone. Dogs are just the most honest place to put that question. They’re the most social, most domesticated, most loyal creatures we’ve got, and Henrot renders them with a kind of psychological precision that catches you off guard. These aren’t cute-dog sculptures. They’re studies in devotion. Paris-born, and this is her love letter to New York as a city of “insistent individual expression” … her words, more or less, and you feel it standing in front of these pieces with the park breathing behind them. 📍 Central Park’s entrance needed exactly this kind of joy. Up through August 2027, so there’s no rush: just don’t forget. 📌 Save this for the next time you’re in NYC. #CamilleHenrot #PublicArtFund #CentralParkArt #NYCArt #ContemporarySculpture 10 Sep 2026 “Camille Henrot: Dogs” my first public exhibition in New York City with @publicartfund, opens today from 6-7pm in Central Park, Doris C. Slide 1: Video by Léa Trudel @leatrudel_ 09 Sep 2026 On view ↘ Paper Planes, Camille Henrot, Copenhagen Contemporary « Paper Planes » est présentée au Copenhagen Contemporary (@copenhagencontemporary), la plus grande exposition personnelle en Scandinavie de l’artiste française Camille Henrot (@coelocanthe). • “Paper Planes” is presented at Copenhagen Contemporary (@copenhagencontemporary), Camille Henrot’s (@coelocanthe) largest solo exhibition in Scandinavia to date. The show explores non-linear thinking, the capacity to drift beyond fixed structures of reality. Its title, drawn from the childhood act of folding paper into flight, becomes an image of imagination as a form of resistance. Henrot exposes the quiet frameworks that shape how people live together, starting from daily gestures and the emotional labour underlying them. At the centre of the exhibition is the Scandinavian premiere of her new film, “In the Veins” (2026), already called “an instant classic” by Art in America: a reflection on care, change, and the paradox of raising children amid ecological crisis and technological dependence. Copenhagen Contemporary Jusqu’au 31 décembre 2026 @copenhagencontemporary Images : Exhibition view of “Camille Henrot: Paper Planes”, Copenhagen Contemporary, Copenhagen, 2026. 07 Sep 2026 "There is a scene in Camille Henrot’s latest film, 'In the Veins', that shows a baby crocodile receiving acupuncture following spinal surgery. The camera scans across the crocodile’s body, pausing on its teeth, its reptilian eyes and its slick scales: all the qualities we, as humans, have learned to view as monstrous. The crocodile flinches and the vet whispers, with great tenderness: “I know baby, calm down.” The strangeness of seeing an animal we generally fear in such a vulnerable state made me think about our relationship with monstrosity, with animals who look prehistoric, and the extent to which this relationship is characterised by our fear of our own origins. In general, the experience of watching 'In the Veins' is something like this. Henrot has expertly crafted a sequence of images that invite the mind to wander to the strange places it generally tries to avoid." For Ocula, novelist Rachel Connolly (@rachel___connolly) sat down with French artist Camille Henrot (@coelocanthe) to reflect on our relationship with our origins, and the expectations society has of women. 22 Aug 2026 a joy to squeak balloons, jangle a crash box and rip ripe DX EPs in the live foley ensemble I created with @mauro_hertig for @coelocanthe Camile Henrot's first ever live performance, “Commedia dell’arte.” (sound on!) Some sit patiently, others pull at their leads, some appear ready to play. The dogs are made from materials including papier-mâché, wax, aluminium and wood, each suggesting its own breed and personality. Through the image of the dog, Henrot reflects on care and dependency. The dogs seem to guard the space, yet they’re the ones left tied up, dependent on an owner who isn’t there. Who is really taking care of whom? ‘Dogs’ by Camille Henrot, on view at CC, as part of Paper Planes 🦴 16 Aug 2026
