What if the skills you learn could lead directly to the opportunities waiting for you?
In Nigeria, stronger collaboration between training institutions and industry is helping bridge the gap between education and the labour market.
Through work-based learning, young people can gain the skills employers need and be better prepared for the world of work.
Because when education and industry work together, skills can connect young people with real opportunities.

Every learner deserves to feel safe.
Yet for millions of children and young people, bullying and violence continue to affect their education, health and well-being, both online and offline.
On the International Day against Violence and Bullying at School, including Cyberbullying, UNESCO calls for turning promises into action.
Together with governments, schools and partners, UNESCO works to prevent violence, support educators and promote inclusive learning environments where every learner can thrive.

Biodiversity starts on our plates. 🌱
What if the way we grow, prepare and share food could help protect biodiversity?
In the Champlain-Adirondack Biosphere Reserve in the United States, chefs, farmers, students, educators and local partners came together to explore how food connects us to nature, our communities and the places we call home.
Alongside UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Food Education, Chef @danielhumm, participants discovered how local ingredients, traditional knowledge and sustainable culinary practices can contribute to biodiversity conservation.
This initiative is part of a pilot project under the UNESCO × Relais & Châteaux partnership, which promotes more sustainable food systems and shows how food can bring people together and inspire us to protect the ecosystems that sustain us.
On the International Day for Biosphere Reserves, this project illustrates how local collaboration can put these principles into practice.

Discover the traditions behind Mexico’s Día de Muertos. 🕯️
In Mexico, Día de Muertos honours deceased loved ones and their temporary return to the world of the living, bringing families and communities together in remembrance.
From altars adorned with photographs and favourite foods to cempasúchil flowers, candles and offerings, each element carries meaning and reflects traditions passed down through generations.
Rooted in Indigenous traditions, Día de Muertos brings together memory, cultural identity and community. Its practices vary across Mexico, reflecting the richness and diversity of the country’s #LivingHeritage.
The Indigenous festivity dedicated to the dead was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the #IntangibleHeritage in 2008.

What if your skills could bring essential services closer to your community?
For Sadiq Hassan Haladu, young animal health technologist in Nigeria, skills are more than a path to self-reliance.
They are helping him bring veterinary care directly to rural communities, support farmers and help them better care for their animals.
Because when skills empower people to support others, they can create opportunities that strengthen entire communities.

In a digital world shaped by algorithms and AI-generated content, we all make choices about what we trust, believe and share.
