This morning, I woke up reflecting on how I first came to @thinkers50_global seven years ago, knowing no one. So much so that my mum kindly stepped in to be my date from Singapore, while my partner stayed home with our 3-year-old (first photo). Seven years later, it’s truly become a community of friends, champions and collaborators. That it started 25 years ago with a competition of ranking management thinkers and evolved into a powerful global community…well, it’s Uncompete in action! 😂 I don’t do many conferences anymore—the pandemic taught me that I’m a secret introvert who extroverts well for short bursts and then falls apart promptly after—but this one always 🎯. Thanks to the amazing @coachmurielwilkins for the 📸 from my session today. 💕🙏🏽 02 Nov 2026

I hope all of you go to a women’s networking event (for me it was in my late 20s) and get chatting to a strong, sassy, sarcastic woman who totally makes you think: HER, I want to be her friend. So you ask her out for a lunch date at a café downtown, filled with trepidation because your track record with making new South Asian women friends AND thawing the Seattle freeze is like…zero. You promptly fall in 💕 commiserating over what it’s like to be a woman in corporate who wants to really make an impact and have names like ours and never quite fit in to America but here’s how we shape shift and oh the tomfoolery! Before you know it, 12+ years have passed and you’re living through motherhood, cishet marriages, multiple career earthquakes, a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, two pumpkin presidencies, patriarchy, millions of memes, texts and meals where sometimes we’re laughing and often crying but always keeping it real. And cheering each other on from the front row!! Thank you, @aartikhanna for being my Seattle ride or die (and in no small part, why I’m still here.) Love you and this photo of us from @daretodanceseattle which is the epitome of our “big smiles on the outside even though we are bone-deep exhausted inside and figuring out all the things for school tomorrow.” 💃🏽 ❤️😂🍷 30 Oct 2026
