WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Jason Boardman (@boardnado).
A DJ's DJ, lifelong record collector and champion of music that exists far beyond the obvious.
Jason's musical education began in 80s Stockport, working at Joe Moss's legendary Crazy Face shop, where an extraordinary soundtrack of blues, soul, rockabilly and forgotten gems opened his ears to a whole new world.
He's been sharing that curiosity ever since.
From the legendary Yellow nights at The Boardwalk to almost three decades of Aficionado with Richard Moonboots, Jason has helped shape Manchester's alternative club culture.
And through his Before I Die record label (@beforeidieprojectsltd), he continues to champion brilliant music that might otherwise go unheard.
For LOOM, Jason is bringing together a carefully considered line-up of under-the-radar artists, mixing new discoveries with established talent to create something genuinely immersive.
Something, in his own words, "which couldn't be created by an algorithm!"
And that, right there, is why WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Yasmin Coe (@yasmincoe__).
Singer, songwriter and passionate champion of independent music, Yasmin makes music that moves between intimate vulnerability and soaring indie anthems.
From BBC 6 Music support to performances at Manchester Psych Fest and The Great Escape, she's been building a reputation for heartfelt songwriting, supporting artists including Katy J Pearson, Caroline Rose, Maruja and Willie J Healey along the way.
Her latest single, 'Blink Twice', is a powerful response to the challenges and fears facing women, combining uncompromising lyrics with shimmering dream-pop.
It's a subject that connects closely with Yasmin's vision for LOOM.
She's curating a stage that champions female and non-binary artists, celebrating the voices and performances she genuinely believes in.
And through her weekly open mic nights at Manchester's Crown & Kettle, she's already putting that belief into practice, bringing musicians together and building community around music.
"I'm hoping people walk away having met someone new, and hopefully having been inspired in some way by the stories and music of the artists I've chosen."
That's exactly what LOOM is about.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Stan Chow (@stan_chow).
Internationally renowned illustrator, lifelong record collector and one of Manchester's most beloved creative talents.
You might know Stan for his unmistakable portraits, which have appeared everywhere from The New Yorker to collaborations with some of the world's biggest brands.
But there's another side to Stan. One that's been soundtracking Manchester's dancefloors for decades.
From jazz, soul and funk to psychedelic discoveries, hip-hop and everything in between, Stan's musical curiosity knows few boundaries.
He still remembers a night at Night & Day in 1998 when the crowd ended up dancing on the bar and tables. The experience was so overwhelming he admits he had a little cry afterwards!
Now he's bringing that same passion for music and connection to LOOM, alongside fellow curator Andy Votel.
And for Stan, there's something particularly special about bringing people together in real life.
"I don't think you really get to know what someone is really like until you meet them face to face."
We couldn't agree more.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Andy Votel (@mrandyvotel).
DJ, record collector, producer, graphic designer, label boss and all-round musical adventurer. Calling Andy a polymath barely scratches the surface.
From co-founding Twisted Nerve Records (@twistednerverecords) with Badly Drawn Boy to unearthing extraordinary forgotten music from around the world through Finders Keepers, Andy has spent decades exploring places most of us wouldn't even know to look.
And the best bit? He's always keen to share what he discovers.
As fellow LOOM curator Stan Chow puts it, Andy finds records that make you think "what the hell did I just listen to" while simultaneously making you want to dance.
That's exactly the kind of musical curiosity we love.
And why we can't wait to discover what Andy has in store for LOOM.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Che3kz (@officialche3kz).
Rapper, performer and creative force, Che3kz has been making serious waves with her fearless fusion of grime, hip-hop, bassline and drum & bass.
From viral freestyles to the stages of Wireless, Reading & Leeds, Outlook Festival and Notting Hill Carnival, she's built a reputation for razor-sharp lyricism, infectious energy and unapologetic individuality.
But there's much more to her story than music.
A former Head of Youth Work at Manchester's HideOut Youth Zone, Che3kz is passionate about empowering young people, championing emerging talent and creating spaces where everyone feels free to be themselves.
And she's bringing that same passion, energy and commitment to LOOM.
Expect fresh sounds, exciting discoveries and absolutely no holding back.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Elios Assiter, the man behind @othersidepromouk.
Psych, shoegaze, serious fuzz and a love of music that refuses to play by the rules.
Through Other Side Promotions, Elios has built a reputation for bringing extraordinary underground artists from around the world to UK stages, from Brazil and Japan to Mexico and beyond.
And his own story is just as fascinating.
Born in the self-declared Republic of Frestonia, an extraordinary creative community in 1970s London that counted members of The Clash among its neighbours, Elios grew up surrounded by unconventional thinking and artistic freedom.
That spirit still drives everything he does.
In his own words, Other Side is a place where "experimentation thrives and the volume rarely drops".
And that's exactly what he's bringing to LOOM.
Expect something louder, stranger and wonderfully immersive.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Francesca Pidgeon (@francesca.pidgeon).
Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and the creative force behind Dilettante (@dilettantesongs), Francesca makes music that bridges art and pop, pushing boundaries and refusing to be boxed into any particular genre.
From touring with BC Camplight for eight years to releasing her own acclaimed albums and composing for film, she's built a career around musical curiosity and creativity.
And she's bringing that same adventurous spirit to LOOM.
"I'm only platforming things that are, I think, exceptional."
For Francesca, it's not just about the music. Stagecraft matters too, and she's putting together a line-up of artists who know how to deliver something genuinely memorable.
We can't wait to see what she has in store.

WHO PICKS THE MUSIC MATTERS.
Meet LOOM curator Martin Moscrop (@martinmoscrop).
Founding member of A Certain Ratio (@acr.mcr), Factory Records pioneer, DJ, musician and educator, Martin has spent more than four decades exploring, making and sharing music.
From helping shape the sound of post-punk to bringing Afro, Latin, Brazilian, house and electronic influences to the dancefloor, his musical curiosity knows few boundaries.
It's exactly that spirit of discovery that makes him such an exciting part of LOOM.
And his philosophy on music? We couldn't agree more.
"Music is for sharing- and you can't do that at home, alone...."

MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND LOOM.
Next up, co-founder and curator Matthew Parkinson.
Matt's musical obsession began watching Ian Curtis and Joy Division. Before long, he was making music himself, fronting My Beautiful Launderette (@mybeautifullaunderetteband) on Manchester's 90s indie circuit, earning support from Steve Lamacq and playing the legendary Haçienda.
Now, alongside Brian, he's helping bring that same independent spirit to LOOM, celebrating the venues, the music and the people who make it all happen.
And there's more good news. My Beautiful Launderette are reforming to play LOOM!

MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND LOOM.
First up, co-founder and curator Brian Jones.
From the legendary Electric Chair nights to a family musical history stretching back to Liverpool's The Undertakers, Brian has spent a lifetime surrounded by music.
Now he's bringing that passion to LOOM, helping create something that celebrates Manchester's independent venues while bringing together brilliant music from much further afield.
And there are some cracking stories along the way, including Razzy's Disco, an unfortunate encounter with Phil Oakey and a rather distinctive approach to dancing.
