“Just to be able to sit somewhere and BELONG. People don’t understand that it’s not easy, people treat you like you are nothing.” These are the words of my friend Diana. She was a mother, a daughter, and a sister. She died on the streets of Oceanside while experiencing homelessness. I wish more people had gotten to know her. Every day, I hear people say, “I just want to be seen. I just want to belong.” When I hear those words, I think of Diana. Diana deserved a safe place to call home. And I keep coming back to that one word she used. Sit. I think about how many times I’ve pulled up a chair without ever having to wonder if I was welcome. When someone who slept outside last night takes the empty seat beside us, do we look up and smile? Do we turn away? Before either of us says a word, what have we already told them about who’s welcome here? 05 Nov 2026 Here is my dear friend Kathleen, who died on the streets of Oceanside. She was a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a woman whose life meant so much more than the circumstances in which she lived and died. We talk about poverty as the absence of money, food, or shelter. But there is another poverty consuming our communities: the poverty of human connection. This morning, while doing outreach in Oceanside, I asked people a simple question: what do you need? Again and again, the answer was connection. To be seen. To be heard. To belong. We have become so focused on helping people survive that we’ve forgotten what makes life worth living: love, dignity, and belonging. Perhaps one of the greatest tragedies of our time isn’t that people have been forgotten, but that we’ve learned to walk past one another without noticing. Learn someone’s name. Listen to their story. Make room at your table. Because belonging should never be a privilege reserved for those who have a place to call home. 03 Nov 2026 We had the chance to partner with Humanity Showers and successfully assemble 370 snack bags in less than an hour for distribution! A big thank you to Jordan for connecting us with Mike. We truly enjoyed the experience! 27 Oct 2026 Do we love at humanity showers? Yes! Are you welcome? Yes! If you are interested in visiting us in person all you need to do is show up! 22 Oct 2026 When you realize everything and everyone is connected it really changes the way you treat others. Loving our neighbors is as if we love ourselves. We are All one. No one higher, no one better, no one bigger. 21 Oct 2026 “Just show up.” Over five and a half years ago, our friend Michael read those words in a Union-Tribune article. So that’s what he did. And five and a half years later, he’s still showing up. Every single week, Michael brings water. We’ve talked about how essential it is when you’re living on the streets, through the hot days and the cold ones. But a bottle of water is also an opportunity to connect, to share a smile, learn someone’s name, and have a conversation. It’s a simple way to let someone know they’re worth your time. To see them, hear them, and get to know them. That’s the simplicity of what we do at Humanity Showers. It’s never been just about showers. It’s not about raising money or being a big organization or a small one. It’s about doing what you can with what you have, and doing it consistently—with love, intention, and dignity. Michael reminds us that caring for people doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with a bottle of water and a willingness to keep showing up. 15 Oct 2026 Every third Saturday of the month, Humanity Showers will be at MiraCosta College’s Community Learning Center from 8:00–10:30 a.m., providing showers and essential services to our community. Today, we provided more than 30 showers, along with veterinary services, clothing, wound care, and warm meals. Thank you, MiraCosta College, for the opportunity to come together and serve our community. We are always better together. 19 Sep 2026 Every Thursday in Vista, something simple happens. People take a shower. They catch up with friends. Volunteers meet neighbors they may have never known otherwise. It’s a place where people experiencing homelessness can find dignity, but it’s also a place where anyone can find connection. In this video, Jay shares what this space has meant to him. His story is a reminder that hygiene is important, but so is having a place where you’re welcomed, known, and seen. We don’t have all the answers. We’re simply trying to create a space where people can belong, where relationships come first, and where everyone has something to give. If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, we’d love to have you join us. 17 Jul 2026 “Showers help me want to help other people.” -Talisha. Join us every Wednesday: 208 S Clementine St in Oceanside Ca from 7:30am-11:00am Thursday: 490 S Melrose Vista CA from 12:00-3:30pm 08 Jul 2026 There isn’t a timeline for someone to take the next step toward a different chapter in their life. For people experiencing homelessness, there are countless barriers—some visible, many invisible. Trauma, loss, mental and physical health, relationships, fear, and systems all shape what feels possible. Change rarely happens because someone is told they should change. More often, it begins when someone has experienced enough trust, safety, and support to believe a different future might actually be possible. That’s why one of the most important things we can do is simply keep showing up. Every week. No judgment. Just love. We’ve never believed our role is to convince someone to change. Our role is to be present, to build trust, and to remind people that they have value long before they make any life-changing decisions. We’ve known Allen for six years. He’s been experiencing homelessness for nearly ten. Yesterday, Allen made the decision to enter a program. Like anyone stepping into the unknown, he had fears about what comes next. Before he left, we reminded him that he wasn’t walking into this alone. We told him, “We’ve got you, and this community has you.” To me, this isn’t just a story about someone entering a program. It’s a story about trust. Trust that was built over six years of conversations, shared meals, showers, laughter, setbacks, victories, and simply continuing to show up. Trust that says, “When you’re ready to take a step, you won’t have to take it alone.” If you have a moment, would you leave Allen a few words of encouragement? We’d love for him to read your messages and be reminded that there is an entire community of people who believe in him, are cheering him on, and will continue to be in his corner—not just today, but in the days ahead. Because recovery isn’t something anyone should have to do alone. And neither is being human. 25 Jun 2026 Every Wednesday from 7:30 AM–10:30 AM, our community comes together to create a space of dignity, connection, and care for our neighbors. Whether you can help clean showers, welcome guests, or simply be present, there’s a place for you. @xo.forever_angelica is there every week and can help you find a way to get involved. Bring supplies or any donations if you’d like. All you have to do is show up. 📍208 S. Clementine St., Oceanside, CA 09 Jun 2026 Many of you know Major. After years of experiencing homelessness, he’s been off the streets for nearly two years. An electric bike helped him get to appointments, volunteer, stay connected, and continue moving forward. Recently, that bike was stolen. If you have an electric bike you’d be willing to donate, or would like to help us purchase a replacement, it would make a huge difference. Venmo: @HumanityShowers Thank you for supporting a community member who continues to show up and give back. 05 Jun 2026
