Treatment ends. But does the fear? The exhaustion? The grief for who you were before?
For so many, the real emotional weight of breast cancer doesn't hit until after the appointments stop and the "congratulations, you're done" messages roll in. We call this the cancer cliff - and our new research shows just how real it is. 76% of you told us you needed emotional support more than two years after finishing treatment.
The truth is, support shouldn't have a cut-off date. But right now, nearly half of NHS Trusts in England don't have a formal pathway for psychological support once treatment ends.
You are not imagining it. You are not being "too much." And you are not alone in this.
👇 We want to hear from you: When did your cancer cliff moment hit — and what (or who) helped you through it? Drop it in the comments

Our Future Dreams' Clinical Breast Care Nurse Specialist, Jackie, takes you through how to check your breasts and chests, in this step-by-step video, in under 5 minutes.
If you find anything, make an appointment to see your GP as soon as possible. We always encourage you to speak to your GP and ideally get a referral into an NHS Breast Clinic.
Like & save this video as your monthly reminder to check.
Please note: To perform your breast or chest check, remove your bra/clothing and stand in front of a mirror so you can spot any physical changes. We recommend checking your breasts or chest monthly - if you have regular periods, check on day 2 of your cycle. Otherwise, pick the same day to check every month. It's useful to mark it on your calendar or set a reminder on your phone to remember each month.

A breast cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect one person.
At Future Dreams, we know that the people supporting someone through breast cancer can sometimes need support themselves.
Whether you're looking for a space to talk, advice or simply a chance to better understand what your loved one is going through, we're here for you too.
From our Supporters Meet-Ups , which bring together people supporting someone with breast cancer, to one-to-one appointments with our Lead Clinical Breast Care Nurse Specialist, there are different ways to find support, ask questions and feel less alone.
Because no one should face breast cancer alone, and that includes the people standing beside them.

Our next 'More Than Breast Cancer' day is from Abi.
In 2021, Abi was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In August 2022, she experienced a breast cancer recurrence and began another course of treatment, which she continues to this day.
Now, 3.5 years on, Abi shares an honest insight into life on long-term treatment and the realities of living beyond a breast cancer diagnosis.

It's only November, but we're already getting into the Christmas spirit! 🎄
We've had a sneak peek inside the Future Dreams x @nextbeauty Advent Calendar and trust us, it's a good one. With 25 days of beauty treats from brands including Clinique, Estée Lauder, Rituals and NEOM, there's plenty to look forward to come December.
Even better, £10 from every calendar sold will go to Future Dreams, helping us support people affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026 comes to an end, marking another year on from my own breast cancer diagnosis. We spoke to 1000+ people and I want to leave 1 important message here:
CONVERSATIONS MUST CONTINUE.
One of the greatest gifts we can give is knowledge - talk to parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbours, colleagues - EVERYONE - because men and women at any age can develop breast cancer.
KNOW YOUR NORMAL.
•Learn from health professionals how to check.
•If you notice anything new see a GP promptly.
DON'T KNOW HOW TO CHECK YOURSELF PROPERLY - CHECK ALONG WITH JACKIE!
Just go to the📍post on @futuredreamscharity Instagram page or YouTube channel to check with Jackie, Future Dreams Lead Clinical Breast Nurse Specialist, and follow her 3-minute demo.
DO NOT LET FEAR STOP YOU.
To reassure, most symptomatic referrals into a breast clinic won't result in a breast cancer diagnosis.
ATTEND MAMMOGRAMS WHEN INVITED.
9/10 women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.
"Have you had your mammogram?”
This could be the conversation starter that one day saves a life.
If you’d like to empower your community or workplace to take charge of their breast health, contact me about a @futuredreamscharity medic-led Breast Health Masterclass.
BECAUSE BREAST HEALTH EDUCATION MUST NOT END WHEN OCTOBER DOES.

Our next 'More Than Breast Cancer' day is from Amanda, our Support and Education Officer at Future Dreams.
At 42, Amanda was raising twin boys, working full-time and navigating a new relationship when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
After undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and medically induced menopause, Amanda knows first-hand that the impact of breast cancer doesn't end when treatment finishes.
Today, she uses her own experience to help support others affected by breast cancer through her role at Future Dreams.

Did you know that for every bottle of our Raspberry-Hibiscus kombucha sold, 5p goes directly to @futuredreamscharity? 💕
We were first introduced to the inspiring team at Future Dreams by our friend @melissahemsley, and their work supporting people through breast cancer has stayed close to our hearts ever since.
In total we’ve managed to raise a whopping £52,186 so far.
All of these donations help fund the Future Dreams House. A safe space for people facing breast cancer, where they can receive vital support when it’s needed most.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has picked up a bottle of Raspberry-Hibiscus. Every sip makes a difference. 💗
