ad Come & spend a normal school day with us 🍂 📕
The weekday mornings can be so hard, can’t they? Especially in the autumn/winter as it’s so dark… it can be really hard to get the kids up and out.
I’m sure like most families, we’ve had times where it’s been particularly hard to get one of our children into school. It’s been tough for all of our family.
I want you to know that there is always help though. There will always be somebody that you can talk to at the school. I was so worried as communication changes a lot from primary to secondary school, but I’ve found that I’ve built a great relationship with teachers & staff at secondary school too. It’s helped immensely as having that reassurance for both our child and for us has meant it’s given us the tools that we need to approach the school day.
There’s a link in my stories today with further information.

AD - How is everyone getting on this school year? I feel like it’s flown and equally been the longest term of our lives 😂
Kai’s nabbed himself 42 praise points, 1 negative (saying he didn’t have his PE kit when in fact he did therefore not doing the lesson 🙃) but more importantly he’s become a Student Librarian!! My boy has an actual school job, who’d have thought. Apparently he’s doing a great job helping the other children set up their accounts for homework and assisting them on the computers 🥹
It’s not been all plain sailing however and if you saw my recent post and stories, I don’t expect it will always be a bed of roses. The one thing that’s worked for us is to be really open with school about any challenges that you may have, as they want to help. It’s really felt like we’re on the same team. I genuinely thought at secondary school I’d be sending him into an abyss each day, never knowing what he’s up to, how he’s doing or what’s going on. But it has been the complete opposite. If there’s anything you’re struggling with or new things you’re having to navigate, seek the teachers out and see what support is available. I promise it’ll help 🙏🏼

ad School morning tips from a mum of three!
With three girls at three different schools, our mornings can be a little chaotic, especially now it’s darker and colder!
Keeping a routine isn’t always easy, but those little things really do make a difference.
School is about so much more than lessons. It’s friendships, confidence and independence. And if your child is finding things difficult, remember their school is there to offer support.

It's simple - every child matters.
Support for children with SEND is key to that.
