This is not going to be one of those tips and tricks of your twenties pieces. I survived this past decade by the grace of God and dirty chai lattes. In any event, I don’t believe in offering advice blindly and without context. Chances are I don’t know you. All I can do is point to the footsteps I’ve left in the proverbial (sometimes literal) sand, in the event that you want to follow.

Well. I have woken up from my week long nap post @wchtokyo25. To think, three years ago I was running around Hyde Park with my camera, and last week I helped document not 1 but 2 moments in history.
This was 10 days of new tech, new learnings and new friends in this wonderfully weird photo space that has become home. I think if you spend enough time running circles around a track, it creates a vortex of sorts. How glad I am to be stuck in this one.

As creatives, we hold the power to shape narratives and expand economic opportunities across Africa. Being part of this Council allows me to use my voice to drive meaningful change, ensuring we use our stories to move people to action.

Last night at the @foreignanddevelopmentoffice delivering the closing address for the Black History Month Reception, under the theme of ‘Honouring our Communities’
I said it best at 3 minutes in when I lost my place in my notes, and started riffing with this ‘Community has become a bit o a buzzword of late. A way for brands and institutions to tie people together in to sell them a narrative. But community extends beyond geography and convenience. Community is a sense of belonging, the moment that you walk into a room and see yourself reflected in every corner.’
Thank you to the for the honour of such a platform and a special thank you to the Foreign Secretary @ed_miliband for his honest remarks on the truth of our history as Brits. (We will forgive him for not being a woman in this case).

We’re excited to welcome OLYMPIC ATHLETE (!), photographer and filmmaker @daniellealakija to The Self-Care Circuit this Saturday!
Danielle will be joining us for the morning, capturing the people, energy and moments of connection from our 5K fun run and 3K community walk as part of @coppafeel × @Studio404.World event.
Working at the intersection of sport, culture and documentary storytelling, Danielle is also a qualified barrister, climate advocate and Founder & Creative Director of @thesoligroup a creative house exploring community, culture and crisis.
Her work spans collaborations with the United Nations, World Food Programme, Nike, Track Mafia and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and she was a recipient of the 2023 BWP × Nikon Award for Photography.
We couldn’t think of a better person to capture the spirit of the morning!

Spicy x AFTER DARK TOUR London. A dream come true.
We’re a new community for neurodivergent runners, I use to hide the fact I was autistic, starting Spicy this summer and seeing the community come together is my biggest pride and joy. To see our girls representing loudly that they’re proud of having a different brain was v special.
We heard Spicy being screamed many times around the course, THANK YOU it made us smile 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Last week, the Pacific was at the center of the global climate conversation.
Delegates and leaders gathered in Fiji for Pre-COP, where Pacific nations made clear that communities facing some of the greatest climate risks cannot afford further delays in climate action.
Former Fijian Olympian and Adapt2Win athlete Danielle Alakija (@daniellealakija) sat down to discuss why climate adaptation funding matters now more than ever as Pre-COP31 concluded.
Of the roughly $16 billion in climate finance pledged to Pacific countries since the 2015 Paris Agreement, more than $5 billion remains undisbursed. For Danielle, the impacts are personal. The beaches she grew up training on no longer exist.
As attention turns to COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, the message from the Pacific deserves to carry forward: communities need more than commitments. They need the funding and support to put adaptation plans into action.
Now is the time to start demanding more from our leaders 📣 What does that look like to you?
