They say never trust a skinny chef, but the fact is, to stay healthy when you're a chef means you have to work twice as hard. 🇺🇸🇧🇸🇶🇦 🇧🇭🇪🇹🇧

Always an honor to mingle, create menu, prepare the food and feed these great and influencial personalities in this great world. @angelinajolie, @whichchris_ @wodemaya_official @marcuscooks @allgovermentofficialsnotmentioned. 27 Aug 2025 Addis, it’s always good to come home. 🇪🇹 Spent some incredible days back in the kitchen with our team at @marcusaddis, cooking, tasting, and dreaming up new dishes together. The energy in that kitchen is something special, and it all starts with leadership. @chefodigowa, thank you for setting the tone every single day. Now it’s time to close out our Nordic series with a final stop in Norway. 🇳🇴 Think bright, clean flavors from the North, cooked with Addis soul. For me, this is where my two worlds sit at the same table. 📅 November 7–20 Come hungry. Come curious. Let’s eat. 05 Nov 2026 Good nutrition begins with knowledge, and sometimes the most meaningful lessons happen right in the kitchen. Through this hands-on cooking experience, children explored the value of nutritious, locally sourced ingredients while learning how everyday foods can contribute to healthy growth and development. From traditional Ethiopian staples and grains to legumes, fresh vegetables and avocados, this experience celebrated the richness of local food systems and demonstrated that preparing nutritious meals does not have to be expensive or complicated. It is about understanding what grows around us, appreciating the nutritional value of our indigenous foods, and equipping children with the knowledge and confidence to make healthier food choices. As conversations around child nutrition continue through the Global Child Nutrition Forum, we are reminded that building healthier generations goes beyond putting food on the table. It also means nurturing food literacy, celebrating local ingredients and making nutritious, affordable meals accessible to every child #GlobalChildNutritionForum #ChildNutrition #FoodEducation #AfricanFoodSystems #SustainableFoodSystems 05 Nov 2026 I was honored to participate in the inaugural Global Culinary Medicine Award 2026. My dish is titled “ Chickepea Sorghum Croquette” . The recipe is inspired by locally sourced ingredients that are very healthy, nutritious and delicious . They reflect the African culinary story that was always informed by more than just the taste. Our foods are medicinal ! I’m super grateful to have emerged position 5. I hope to inspire more young Africans to explore the food systems in our continent and embrace some of the traditional approaches that were cognizant of the health benefits of the food we consume. #GlobalCulinaryMedicineAward #CulinaryMedicine #NutritionInHealthcare #CulinaryInnovation #PanInternationalMeet 02 Nov 2026 There’s something beautiful about the way food brings art to life. The colours, the textures, the composition and the little details that make each dish unique. Plating is an extension of the cooking process, a thoughtful expression of the ingredients and the story behind them. Every plate deserves to be experienced, admired and, most importantly, savoured. ##Chefs #Culinary #MarcusAddis 30 Oct 2026 Today we Observe World Food Day in Ethiopia. I celebrate the deliberate action by Ethiopians to promote and preserve their indigenous foods and ingredients. #WorldFoodDay #FAO #WorldFoodProgramme #NourishInnovate #Chefsroll 22 Oct 2026 Happy International Chef’s Day! We celebrate all chefs across the world for the great work they keep doing to ensure we all enjoy nutritious meals. As we strive to achieve Zero Hunger (SDG 2) , it’s our commitment as chefs to contribute to ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture. I commend all chefs , especially those from the African continent for ensuring we do not lose our indigenous ingredients as well as cooking techniques. This day is important to celebrate the great work chefs do and our role in making the world a greater place using our food. It was founded by Chef Dr. Bill Gallagher in 2004 and over years we’ve seen significant growth in the culinary industry. I want to appreciate my mentor @marcuscooks for being a great inspiration in my culinary journey and teaching me most of what I know today. In the same regard I hope to be an inspiration to upcoming young chefs , especially those from my continent, Africa. #internationalchefsday #zerohunger #thisisworldchefs #feedtheplanet #marcusaddis 19 Oct 2026 On the business side of the kitchen. A lot goes into consideration to keep your business running and make profit. Many young entrepreneurs in the culinary business fail consider this and end up incurring loses. It is my hope that going forward young chefs may understand the business side of the culinary industry. #worldfoodforumethiopia #FAO #Foodsafety #pastrychef #cakedecoration 16 Oct 2026 On this #WorldFoodDay, @chefodigowa highlights how traditional African crops like sorghum, cassava, finger millet, and sweet potatoes are paving the way for a more sustainable, modern food system. By passing down traditional food knowledge and championing biodiversity, Chef Odi is inspiring youth to build a future where healthy, nutritious food is accessible for everyone. 🥜 What indigenous crop are you bringing to your plate this month? I believe they carry the culinary future for Africa. Their zeal , creativity and grit will shape our plates. #worldfoodforumethiopia #FAO #Foodsafety #pastrychef #cakedecoration 12 Oct 2026 This is a pure representation of the richness, the beauty , the creativity and diversity in Ethiopia. With the theme being soil to sponge, these young chefs went over and beyond and brought their best game. All the cakes represented something culturally familiar to Ethiopia. They decorated the cake to represent the Ethiopian agricultural landscape. Most importantly, all ingredients were locally sourced! Coffee, barley, Teff, honey, sesame seeds, kolo nuts. This shows just how rich our foods in Africa are. Some creativity, dedication and inspiration brings out the best of our home. Congratulations to all the participants at the cake decoration festival, keep up the great work. #worldfoodforumethiopia #FAO #Foodsafety #pastrychef #cakedecoration 08 Oct 2026 Young Ethiopian Pastry Chefs came together to compete at the First ever Cake Decoration Festival by @wff_ethiopia_chapter . They used locally available ingredients and traditional grains. In a beautiful theme of Soil to Sponge, the young professionals depicted very creative ways that represented the Ethiopian soil, landscape, culture and taste. They managed to showcase creative ways to present African pastry dishes. Maintaining great flavour , texture and quality. #worldfoodforumethiopia #FAO #Foodsafety #pastrychef #cakedecoration 08 Oct 2026
