We are incredibly grateful to all the team members, past and present, that make Michael’s Genuine special. Thank you @michelinguide for recognizing Michael’s Genuine for the fifth year in a row as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. It’s exactly where we want to be and exactly what I envisioned it to be nearly 20 years ago. We had some fun last night. Celebrated the win, congratulated some friends and enjoyed the moment. One of the things that stood out to me when I first met @michaelthejojo from @sipjojo was his curiosity and passion. He was a total tea geek! We’ve been serving his tea at @michaelsgenuine since the beginning. The people behind the products have always been just as important as the products themselves. Mike’s been inviting me to his tea ceremony for years. A little embarrassed it took me this long to finally make it happen. I brought our beverage and culinary teams along and we all walked away with a deeper appreciation for tea. Always more to learn from someone who cares that much. The ceremony is open to the public and I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks Mike! 06 Nov 2026

THANK YOU PORTUGAL!! Dinner of the Year was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Not only the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best chefs in the world (cooking alongside @henriquesapessoa @c_troisgros @jessi_trindade @rodrigomocoto @noeliajeronimo_ @chefruipaula was an absolute honor), but to experience the magic of Portugal. The food, the wine, the culture, but above all, the people. A huge thank you to the maestro himself, @fxmc, the creative mastermind behind @dinneroftheyear, for bringing us all together. And to Rita and the entire team of ninjas who pulled off an action-packed itinerary while keeping seven chefs from around the world moving in the same direction. Herding cats might have been easier! Along the way we experienced Portugal’s incredible wine culture at @fitapreta.vinhos, learned about sustainable beef production at @bestfarmerpt, and got a glimpse into the inspiring work of Isabel Jonet at @bancoalimentar and her mission to bridge the gap between food waste and food insecurity. And of course, we ate! Some fantastic meals at @cervejariaramirooficial, @fazfrio, @martinhodaarcada_ @acozinha_srlisboa and one of the best lunches ever @restaurantehenriquesapessoa where we shared the table with @henriquesapessoa himself. Even got a behind the scenes look at @pasteisbelem, watching the team turn out tens of thousands of those irresistible little pastries. Big thanks to @visit_lisboa and @hotelvalverdelisboa for the incredible hospitality and making us feel right at home. Of course the icing on the cake was being able to share this with my love @rima_k who makes everything better! And documents it to a T We came for @dinneroftheyear and left with new friendships, unforgettable experiences and a real love for Portugal. Can’t wait to return. Obrigado!!! 27 Oct 2026

A look back at last night’s In Session: Japan 🇯🇵 Two sold-out seatings and a menu Chef Michael was SO excited to create and execute! Fun fact: many moons ago Michael had a little sushi spot in South Beach! He’s spent time in Japan and has always loved the food. Honestly, who doesn’t? 👀 The dinner was SO good and the pairings were incredible.
