It’s hard to imagine going through life without training. Im so grateful I developed this habit and love for it at such a young age. It’s been a constant in my life. An anchor that helps me clear my head, find clarity, and stay centered through all the different seasons of life. My biggest takeaway from this Olympia is realizing what I actually miss. I miss the emotion that comes with dedicating yourself completely to a goal. Giving everything you have to something, experiencing the highest highs and the lowest lows, and sharing those moments with the people closest to you who saw everything it took to get there. Watching the athletes on stage and seeing everything they were feeling brought back a lot of memories. There’s something incredibly special about caring that deeply about something and finding out how far you’re willing to go for it. But at the same time, I felt more clear than ever. Because I know exactly what it takes to stand on that stage, I also know the sacrifice it requires. And for me, that sacrifice just isn’t worth it anymore. I can miss parts of that life without wanting it back. My documentary finally gets to see the light of day 👀 A lot of time, work, and care has gone into making this film exactly what we wanted it to be. The World Premiere will take place during opening weekend at the Austin Film Festival in Austin, Texas. This will be the first time the film is shown publicly, which feels pretty crazy (and scary) to say.
