RIFF was quite possibly one of the most important style masters’ to emerge in the early days from the NYC Transit System. While I heard stories from RIFF and others for years about his exploits and contributions I never fully understood how deep it went until we uncovered the Gordon Matta-Clark archive of images 1972-3. RIFF painted under so many names in a widely undocumented time of writing. These new images showed his massive skill level to adapt with styles and letters like no one of the time and for years to come. Things that came natural to RIFF were innovations that this art form still use to this day. RIFF was always a character in the best of ways and had a story to tell me whenever I saw him and even more questions to ask me. Even as he got up in age, he made sure he was involved in the conversation and showed up - but it is RIFF, there was no way not to include him and there never will be. - Roger Gastman 28 Oct 2026 Panama Prison by Estevan Oriol, published by BEYOND THE STREETS is available online at beyondthestreets.com @estevanoriol @beyondthestreetsart 27 Oct 2026 Ozzie Juarez Spring time on Borrowed time (ducky), 2026 Acrylic on Panel with Iron Frame 48 × 60 in (121.9 × 152.4 cm) - Painting 60 × 77 in (152.4 × 195.6 cm) - w/ Frame @ozziejuarez 26 Oct 2026
