We’ve been taught to pray harder, change who we are, or hide parts of ourselves to be worthy of God’s love. But what if that choice was never ours to make? What if God never asked us to change? You are allowed to question what you’ve been taught. To unlearn shame. To explore your faith without rejecting who you are. Accepting yourself doesn’t have to mean abandoning your faith. Hey. We know it can hurt. We know what it feels like to sit in a church and wonder if something is wrong with you. To pray so hard for God to change you that you don’t know what to do. But here us when we say this: you didn’t do anything wrong. You are not wrong. The church might have made you feel like you had to choose between who you are and who God made you to be. Those were their rules, not God’s. God’s love is so big. It doesn’t have conditions, a “but” or a checklist. It’s yours. Right now. Exactly as you are. Know if you ever feel alone, you are not. There are thousands of people just like you who love God and learning to love themselves. @beloved_arise is here to help you with resources and community. You are beloved.
