None of these were on television. The gap between what people think the limit is and what has actually been done is enormous. Most of this was covered by a local paper at best, if anyone covered it at all. The pace of it varies wildly too. Sorokin’s 24 hour mark is only four years old because plenty of people chase that one. Kostelnick took down a record that had sat untouched since 1980. The race in Queens has been running every summer for decades and almost nobody outside the sport knows it exists. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 06 Nov 2026 The gym is only half the work. What you eat decides what you get out of it. Real carbs: rice, oats, sweet potatoes, potatoes. Real fats: avocado, butter, olive oil, dark chocolate. Real protein: eggs, beef, chicken, fish. Natural sugar: mango, kiwi, berries, grapes. Quick energy: a banana, raw honey, a pinch of sea salt. Keep it simple. Eat real food. Your body will thank you. Save this for your next food shop. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 06 Nov 2026 Italy waited 73 years for this one. Alberto Ascari was the last Italian world champion, back in 1953. Antonelli is only the third his country has ever produced. He took Hamilton’s seat at Mercedes in 2025 and is the first driver to come through their junior programme and win a title. He sealed it with four races still left to run. His own words that night were that he was still trying to process it all. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 06 Nov 2026 Most people train arms by feel and never change anything. The position your arm is in when it is loaded matters more than the name of the exercise. Overhead triceps work hits the long head because the muscle is stretched before the rep starts. Curls with your arm behind you do the same thing to the biceps. Preacher curls are not worse, they just build the half nearest your elbow instead. That is why the list has pairs on it rather than one winner. The honest part: the triceps and biceps research here ran on untrained lifters over eight and twelve weeks, so the gaps are real but they are not advanced-lifter numbers. Hammer curls, close grip bench and chin ups have no arm-specific trial behind them at all. Comment ARMS for the free 4 week program. He arrived as an 18-year-old kid and leaves as the highest-scoring men’s international player ever. At 41, the time has finally come for him to hand Portugal’s No.7 shirt to the next generation. There will never be another Cristiano Ronaldo. Obrigado, Capitão. 🇵🇹🐐 Follow @ATHLETE for more. 05 Nov 2026 Giannis was the only one in that locker room counting. In the same interview he mentions Caron Butler handing him $500 to go and buy a pack of gum and a Mountain Dew. He was sending most of his rookie money home to Greece at the time. When he finally bought a PlayStation for himself he felt guilty about it and sold it to Bucks assistant coach Nick Van Exel for what he paid. He went without one for three months, until his family landed in America. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 05 Nov 2026 Tate Taylor ran 9.94 while still at high school. He did it winning World Under 20 gold in Eugene, and he already held the high school record anyway, 9.92 set when he was 17. He goes to school in San Antonio. Three of the ten fastest in America this season are sophomores. Dillon Mitchell is 16 and his 10.10 is a world best for under 18s. He also ran 9.88 with the wind behind him, faster than anything on this list, but it blew too hard to count. Jake Odey-Jordan is second at 10.01 and he is not American at all. He ran for Great Britain at the same championships. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 05 Nov 2026 Stanley Matthews won the first ever Ballon d’Or at 41 years old. That was 1956, and seventy years later nobody has come near it. Messi is the closest, winning his eighth at 36 after the World Cup. Harry Kane joined the list last week at 33. So did Luka Modric in 2018, Fabio Cannavaro in 2006 and Alfredo Di Stefano back in 1959, all of them within a few months of each other in age. Lev Yashin was 34 when he won it in 1963, and he is still the only goalkeeper ever to do it. Tonight, Jude Bellingham scored his second goal in two games as Madrid came from behind to win 3–2. His mum moved countries for him. His dad left his career to support him. Now Jude is building schools, funding life-saving equipment and making his family’s sacrifices count. Some journey. ❤️ Follow @ATHLETE for more. 04 Nov 2026 Fu Mingxia was 12 years old when she became a world champion. She won the 10 metre platform at the 1991 World Championships. No world title in any sport has been won younger. Tara Lipinski took the world figure skating title at 14, then became the youngest individual Winter Olympic champion a year later. Aurelia Dobre won the world all-around at 14, and gymnastics later set the minimum age at 16 so nobody can match her. Kimi Antonelli joined the list on Sunday at 20 years and 68 days. Mike Tyson was 20 when he won the heavyweight title. Pelé was 17 when he won the World Cup. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 04 Nov 2026 Casey Neistat ran New York in 2:57:25 on Sunday. It was his tenth New York Marathon and he was the only famous name to break three hours. James Milner was next. The former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder retired from football earlier this year, and at 40 he went 3:09:04. Jennifer Connelly ran 3:40:09 for cancer research. Joshua Bassett ran for mental health. Tiki Barber went back round the city he carried the ball in for ten seasons. More than 60,000 people finished, the most any marathon has ever had. Follow @ATHLETE for more. 04 Nov 2026 The Jungfrau Marathon climbs almost 2,000 metres before it lets you finish. You start in Interlaken and end at Eigergletscher, 2,320 metres up, with the Eiger over your shoulder the whole way. Petra is a different kind of hard. Everyone walks in through the Siq together, past the Treasury, just to reach the start line. Then it is 1,200 metres of climbing across the desert in the heat. The Big Five crosses a South African game reserve through lion territory. Armed rangers stand along the route and helicopters watch from the air. And the Great Wall makes you climb 5,164 stone steps.
