Just over 2 years ago I was heavily involved helping rescue people from Afghanistan as the Taliban started to take over.
August 26th, 2021, I woke early receiving intelligence about a possible bombing at Kabul airport… a few hours later a bomb exploded killing and injuring hundreds, including 13 Americans at Abbey Gate.
Plans had to change, new ways out of the country had to be found. It was a hard day. I will always remember the local people reaching out to ask how I was, when they were the ones in hiding and facing prison, torture and execution.
Praying for those still there, for those left behind… you are not forgotten.

We went to the House of Lords in London for a meeting. Before entering I found myself talking to a police officer who noticed I was wearing a necklace raising awareness about the Israeli hostages, and said “Can I just say, thank you for wearing that, I’m Jewish.” She then went on to share how hard things have been for her with all the antisemitism, especially with demonstrations that happen right across the street.
A small thing like wearing a necklace encouraged her, and let her know she is not alone.
Watch this space, for possible future developments regarding the meeting we had in the House of Lords.

October 7th is not just a date — it is a wound carried in the soul of a nation. On that day, Israel faced a darkness that words can scarcely hold: lives stolen, families shattered, the very meaning of safety torn apart. Yet even in the silence that followed, the land itself bore witness — to courage, to grief, to the unyielding will to endure. We gather, we remember, and we refuse to let time erode truth. To remember is not to dwell in pain; it is to honor the light that still burns in the face of unimaginable loss. This day, and all it revealed, must never be forgotten — not by Israel, not by the world, not by history.

Over the past few years, we have greatly appreciated Fleur’s kindness, encouragement and support. At a time when standing with Israel and the Jewish people can be particularly challenging, her friendship and willingness to stand alongside us has mean’t a lot.

MY FIRST 2 DAYS in ISRAEL
My first two days in Israel were unlike anything I could have prepared myself for.
I came to Israel to hear and see for myself.
I've visited the site of the October 7 attacks, traveled to the Gaza border, the Lebanese border, the Syrian border, and Judea and Samaria (what is also known as the West Bank).
Beyond the places, it was the people who impacted me most.
I hugged and cried with grieving mothers, teenagers, and soldiers. I heard firsthand accounts from both Jewish and Arab people about the realities of living in a region marked by terror*sm, conflict, fear, and loss.
Beyond the headlines, political conversations, and opinions we hear from thousands of miles away are real people, real families, and real stories of ptsd, loss, terror, and resilience.
What I witnessed was a people broken, but not destroyed. A resilient people who have endured unimaginable loss and hardship, yet continue to stand, rebuild, love, and believe Israel is the still one of the greatest nations in the world.
Being there allowed me to see for myself the places everyone is talking about, listen to people whose lives have been directly affected, and gain a deeper understanding of the human cost of hatred and the complex realities facing people in this region.
These are just the first two days of my journey. I want to bring you along, share what I witnessed, and give a voice to the stories that deserve to be heard.
Sometimes you have to go and see for yourself! Let us go beyond the headlines to understand the human stories of those living in it.
Shalom

On October 7th, as terror swept across southern Israel, the brave men and women of Magen David Adom (MDA) were among the first to rush into the chaos.
While others desperately sought safety, these paramedics and ambulance crews ran towards the attack, facing unimaginable scenes and risking their own lives to save others.
Hearing their testimonies is a vital part of bearing witness to what happened that day. These are the voices of those who were there, who saw the devastation firsthand and fought to save lives.
We must listen. We must remember. And we must never forget those who ran towards danger when humanity needed them most.
To the men and women of MDA: thank you for your extraordinary courage, compassion and unwavering commitment to saving lives.

One of the privileges we have on these trips is being able to help in a time of real need - and so be part of actually fulfilling prophecy:
“Strangers will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.” Isaiah 61:5 (NIV)

Some testimonies stay with you long after the words have ended.
We heard from Nurith, a ZAKA volunteer who was on the ground in the immediate aftermath of October 7th, witnessing unimaginable devastation firsthand.
In a world shaped by social media clips, headlines and misinformation, we must never stop listening to those who were actually there.
October 7th was not just a news story. It was a human tragedy that must never be erased, distorted or forgotten.
Listen to those who were there. Bear witness. Never forget.

I was honoured to have George Deek, Israel’s Special Envoy to the Christian World, meet with G2g’s Bearing Witness Collective, a group of influential Christian leaders from six nations, at the Nova Music Festival site.
At a time when the divide between “the Church” and the Jewish and Israeli people is growing, George’s voice and commitment to understanding are more vital than ever. Hearing his firsthand perspective on October 7th, the war that followed, and the realities facing Israel today was both powerful and deeply meaningful.
My hope is that each leader will carry these insights back to their churches and nations, becoming voices for truth, friendship, and solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people.
When these divisions grow, we must choose courage over indifference, understanding over hostility, and solidarity over silence.

Some of the most powerful moments on our Bearing Witness Christian Influencers trip are times when informal conversations and reflections take place.
6 nations came together for a powerful week

We will remember. We will bear witness. We will not forget.
Returning to the Nova Music Festival site with influential Christian leaders, politicians, political advisors, commentators, pastors, worship leaders, media people, and former pop stars is a powerful reminder of why we must never stop telling the story of October 7th.
In a world where media narratives can distort the truth, where the events of today are too often presented without the context of October 7th, and where truth risks being buried beneath misinformation, distortion, and lies, we must stand firm.
We will not allow the truth to be rewritten. We will not allow history to be erased. And we will not allow the world to forget.
We stand on this ground for those who were murdered, for those who were taken hostage, for the families forever changed, and for every life shattered by that horrific day and the wars that followed.
Every number represents life. Every name tells a story. Every memory deserves to endure.
We are here to bear witness, to speak the truth, and to carry these stories to the world.
Because remembrance is a responsibility. Truth is worth defending. And forgetting is not an option.
We will remember October 7th.
We will bear witness. We will speak the truth. And we will not let the world forget.

I stood in my friend’s home in Nir Oz and tried to comprehend what I was seeing.
The silence was deafening.
A home that had once held ordinary moments—meals, conversations, laughter, life—was now marked by the horror of October 7th.
I had come to Israel to witness the atrocities with my own eyes.
And standing there, I realized something:
There are things you cannot truly understand until you stand where they happened.
The news can tell you the numbers.
The photographs can show you the destruction.
But standing inside a friend’s home, surrounded by the aftermath, makes it painfully, undeniably real.
I wasn’t looking at history.
I was standing in it.
That experience left me with a responsibility: to remember, to bear witness, and to never allow what happened to be reduced to headlines or statistics.
Now I’m returning to Israel, taking a group of influential Christian leaders from around the world.
We are going to see, listen, learn and bear witness.
We will hear from those whose lives were changed forever on October 7th. We will explore what has happened in Israel since that day—the grief, the trauma, the war, the resilience, and the hope.
We go not simply as visitors, but as witnesses.
Because there is a responsibility that comes with seeing.
When you have witnessed something, you can no longer say you didn’t know.
So we go.
To see.
To listen.
To remember.
To stand with those who have suffered.
And to carry their stories home.
I have seen.
I will remember.
I will not be silent.
🇮🇱 Am Yisrael Chai.
