High Lonesome. The race that started it all for me in 2024. The race where I was first introduced to the trail community and was immediately hooked, where I made new Colorado friends who welcomed me with open arms when I moved to the state a few months later, where I first connected with @altrarunning thanks to @adriiennneper and @colbygould, and where I first met this incredible gal, @ashleyyayoutside. We were camping neighbors back in 2024 and since then, have become friends over the course of multiple races and years spanning CA and AZ. It was such an honor and thrill to be part of her crew (my first time crewing ever!) this year at @highlonesome100 and get to take her photos as she ventured 100 miles over 30 hours. A full circle moment for me that I’ll cherish forever. Here’s 20 pics of her adventure! 02 Aug 2026 I went to Vietnam with minimal expectations. After a rollercoaster of an experience in Italy last year, one of my goals for this trip was to release control and embrace each day however it unfolded; to let the experience happen TO me, not BY me. Doing so allowed me to focus on the present more fully and boy was it magical. Ten years ago when I started getting into photography, @jordhammond was one of the first photographers I started following on Instagram. Since then, his photos of South East Asia have always captivated me. It was an honor and immense joy to finally be able to join one of his photo workshops, co-led by the incredible @momentlives_photography. Together they put on such a wonderful workshop that took us off the beaten path in North and Central Vietnam. There were 7 other photographers from around the world. Strangers at the start but you’d never know it if you saw us. An endless amount of laughs, bus rides, meals, wisdom, and early wake ups were shared as we got to photograph so many aspects of the Vietnamese way of life. I left with a larger understanding of the country’s past, present, and future. Whenever I manage to sort through 10,000 photos from my camera (yes literally), I’ll post some of those. But for now, here’s 20 glimpses of my trip beyond the photography, taken with my phone and the second photo by the lovely @p.s.smileproduction from June 4-17. 06 Jul 2026 Scenes from Dusty Corners, Foresthill, Rucky Chucky and the Finish of @tara.dower @justin_grunewald @banta.visuals for @altrarunning. Some personal favorites from @wser that you may or may not have seen already. In the month leading up to this race, I was feeling pretty down. Low confidence, low motivation, low inspiration. Witnessing this race, following these incredible athletes, and reuniting with friends was just the boost I needed heading into July. Thank you @altrarunning for the opportunity and thank you to everyone I interacted with for lifting my spirits one smile and photo at a time. 01 Jul 2026 Canyons. What a weekend. Started at 12pm Friday photographing @amanda_basham in the 100M. Finished photographing @i.careth in the 100K at 3pm the following day. I’m really proud at how I managed my time and stayed on top of my eating/sleeping/editing/driving, while still coming away with photos I’m happy with. Being on the @canyonsenduranceruns course for so long allowed me to experiment with my photography. It’s always an interesting challenge to photograph a race that’s been captured so much already, including by myself. Huge congrats to Amanda and Careth for your incredible performances. It was a joy to witness it all and spend time with your crew. Thank you as always to @altrarunning for having me out there. 29 Apr 2026 Watched The Cutoff by @spiritofdylan, edited by @brooksupham, last night in Denver. What a film! Beautiful storytelling and cinematography. Inspiring and relatable people. Happy to have photographed the screening on behalf of @altrarunning. 27 Mar 2026 I hope you’re not tired of @blackcanyonultras content because these photos make me happy. So much gratitude for this weekend in the desert. 18 Feb 2026 Watching and capturing finish line moments never gets old. Especially when I finally know how to use my flash! Thank you as always to @altrarunning for having me out there. Until next time, @javelinajundred🫡. 01 Nov 2025 A moment of appreciation for the Arizona desert and all its prickly beauty. 28 Oct 2025 We run long. Last weekend I was supposed to run the @westlinewinder 30K, a race I had been training for all year and was supposed to be my biggest mileage to date. But an untimely sprained ankle meant life had other plans. Who knew that the weekend would come to mean so much more than I could’ve ever imagined. Instead of racing, I had the incredible honor and pleasure of photographing the runners of @werunlong for @altrarunning. Growing up in a society where the majority of folks didn’t look like me, especially in the media, it affected my self esteem and made me want to do everything I could to blend in. I dressed like everyone else, didn’t talk about my background, and shied away from up-close photos. As an adult, I’m learning to embrace and celebrate who I am and how I look. We Run Long is an incredible community that aims to uplift BIPOC runners in the outdoor space. With the support of @altrarunning and @freestoneendurance, they sponsored 16 athletes last weekend for an all-inclusive camp in Buena Vista and entry into the West Line Winder 30K and 50K. Thank you @altrarunning for the opportunity to photograph this race. It meant a lot to be able to use my photography in this way. I appreciate everything you’ve done for my career and this community. 03 Oct 2025 Italy part 5: film photos I always love bringing my point-and-shoot film camera along on trips. It makes random, fleeting moments feel more timeless. Here’s a collection from the entire trip, all unedited. If you’ve followed along for all five parts of this recap, thanks for doing so! - Piazza del Duomo, Florence - A night out, Florence - Piazzale Michelangelo, Florence - San Gimignano - Piazza del Duomo, Pisa - David is everywhere, Florence - Random building, Verona - First dinner all together, Venice - Looking out at the via ferrata on Torre di Toblin from Rifugio Locatelli - House shoes and hiking boots at Rifugio Locatelli - Beers and packs - Rifugio Antelao and the owner Livio - @chrisbrinleejr and Daniele (our two guides) and the full hiking crew 22 Sep 2025 Italy part 4: The Dolomites We took a bus from Venice to Cortina d’Ampezzo, host of the 1956 Olympics and future co-host of the 2026 Olympics. Now in the Tyrol region of the country and close to the Austrian border, it felt like we were worlds away from Venice. The food was different too (but still good). After a night in Cortina, we took a bus to San Candido and hiked 45 miles for 6 days along the Alta Via 4. Along the way, we traversed four via ferratas and stayed in so many cozy, beautiful rifugios. 16,362 feet of elevation gain and 18,576 feet of loss. Epic views, minimal rain, and pretty sunrises. I was challenged mentally and physically but grew so much from it. Grateful for the time spent in the Dolomites with this wonderful crew. It’s a trek I’ll never forget! 21 Sep 2025 Italy part 3: Venice A week after first landing in Italy, I made it to Venice. This marked the end of my solo excursions and the beginning of phase two of my trip. Soon I’d be heading to the Dolomites on a guided trek but first, I connected in Venice with friends from Boulder also doing the trip. I’m so proud of myself for traveling solo internationally for the first time (won’t be the last) but it felt so good to be with familiar faces. Mentally, I felt like I was on the up and up. But alas, another curveball came my way and I started feeling sick soon after arriving in Venice. I still had a wonderful time though. What a novel city. Public transportation via water, no cars, narrow walkways, bridges, and canals. It was so much fun to explore and photograph. Highlights: - Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had - Gondola ride at sunset - Wandering the streets - Touring Doge’s Palace - Dinner on a balcony over a canal - Connecting with @chrisbrinleejr @merry.with.mary @dr_stefgreenleaf and Nick. 18 Sep 2025
