#Exclusive: Shaheen Mistri, Founder & CEO of @teachforindia , has dedicated her life to tackling educational inequality in India. After volunteering with children in underserved communities at 18, she left university to pursue social impact full-time. Through Teach For India, she has built a movement of educators, leaders, and changemakers working to expand quality education, with Fellows, alumni, communities, and students collectively driving long-term systemic change.
👉🏻 From A Small Classroom To A National Movement
@shaheen_mistri ’s journey began in a South Mumbai community, where she taught children in a makeshift classroom. This effort grew into the Akanksha Foundation and later Teach For India. Today, around 1,000 Fellows teach more than 37,000 students across eight cities, helping improve educational opportunities for children.
👉🏻 Building Leaders For Educational Equity
Recognizing that educational inequity cannot be solved by one organization alone, Shaheen focused on developing leaders who can influence classrooms, schools, policies, and communities. Teach For India’s 5,800+ alumni have co-created over 160 social impact organisations, contributing to initiatives that have reached nearly 50 million children across India.
👉🏻 The Logical Indian's Perspective
Shaheen Mistri’s journey highlights how empathy, persistence, and collective action can create lasting social change. Her work shows that education is not only about academic success but also about empowering future leaders and active citizens.
How can more individuals contribute to building equitable learning opportunities for every child? Share your thoughts below.

Bangladesh’s garment workers are demanding more than DOUBLE their current minimum wage - and the pr*tests are bringing factories to a standstill.
Workers are demanding a monthly minimum wage of 30,000 taka, up from the existing 12,500 taka, arguing that rising food, rent and transport costs have made it increasingly difficult to make ends meet.
👉 Why This Matters
The protests, which began on November 1, have spread across major garment manufacturing hubs. On November 5, more than 100 factories suspended operations in Ashulia after workers blocked a major highway and clashed with police.
👉 The Questions That Remain
A six-member wage board has agreed to introduce a revised pay structure from December, but the actual salary increase is yet to be decided. Workers are demanding a clear commitment, not just an assurance.
👉 What Happens Next
With nearly 4 million workers and over 80% of Bangladesh’s export earnings linked to the garment sector, prolonged unrest could disrupt global fashion supply chains.

During a conversation on Figuring Out With Raj Shamani (@rajshamani ), OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (@sama) shares his vision for the future of AI and how it could transform scientific research and human understanding.
👉🏼 AI Could Change The Future Of Scientific Discovery
Sam Altman says he is excited about building AI systems that can help scientists make discoveries beyond what we currently understand. From uncovering deeper insights into physics to developing new medical treatments and finding alternative sources of energy, he believes AI could accelerate scientific progress in ways we cannot yet imagine. He points to recent mathematical breakthroughs as a sign that this possibility may be closer than expected.
👉🏼 The Logical Indian’s Perspective
Scientific progress has the potential to improve lives, from advancing healthcare to addressing energy challenges. If AI can meaningfully accelerate research and discovery, it could open new possibilities for humanity. However, ensuring that these technologies are developed responsibly and that their benefits reach people widely will be equally important.
What scientific breakthrough would you most want AI to help humanity achieve?

During a conversation on Nitin Joshi Notes (@nitinjoshi.notes ), Debendra Pradhan, founder of Coratia Technologies, explains why much of the world's oceans remain unexplored and how technology is shaping the future of underwater exploration.
👉🏼 Why Have We Explored So Little Of Our Oceans?
Debendra Pradhan explains that the limited exploration of the oceans is largely due to technological challenges rather than a lack of interest or potential discoveries. Despite the known presence of valuable mineral deposits and other resources underwater, exploring extreme depths remains difficult. He discusses how AI-powered autonomous underwater robots can help overcome these limitations and make underwater exploration, inspection and research safer and more efficient.
👉🏼 The Logical Indian’s Perspective
The oceans hold immense scientific, environmental and economic significance, yet exploring their depths remains a major technological challenge. Advances in underwater robotics could open new possibilities for research, infrastructure inspection and marine exploration. However, these developments must also be accompanied by responsible practices that protect fragile marine ecosystems.
Do you think underwater robotics could transform how India explores and understands its oceans?

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) notified an amendment on November 5, easing passport and visa requirements for specific foreign nationals. It covers six minority communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who entered India by December 31, 2024, along with registered Sri Lankan Tamils and certain Tibetans.
👉🏼 Who Gets Exemption
Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who entered due to religious persecution can remain without a valid passport, but must obtain an appropriate visa for continued stay. Registered Sri Lankan Tamils who arrived by January 9, 2015, and eligible Tibetans are also covered.
👉🏼 Nepal-Bhutan Rules
Nepalese and Bhutanese citizens entering India directly can use identity documents specified in the Visa Manual. However, those travelling through China, Macau, Hong Kong or Pakistan require a valid passport and visa.

What if making someone’s Diwali brighter could also create an opportunity for someone else?
With #KhushiyonKiAdlaBadli, @tatacapital turned this thought into action by connecting workers who wished to return home for Diwali with those seeking temporary employment.
Rooted in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding people’s needs, this initiative reimagines festive giving as an opportunity to make a difference in more than one life.
This Diwali, let’s look beyond our own celebrations and find ways to create opportunities, share happiness and make the festival brighter for others, too.

Nithya Raman, who was born in Kerala and moved to the US with her family at the age of six, has been elected the next mayor of Los Angeles after defeating incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.
Bass conceded the race on November 5, making Raman the first challenger to defeat a sitting Los Angeles mayor since 2005. Raman, 45, will also become the city’s first mayor of South Asian descent.
Born in Thrissur, Raman studied social studies at Harvard University before earning a master’s degree in urban planning from MIT in 2008. She later worked with organisations supporting disadvantaged communities in Delhi and founded Transparent Chennai, a civic initiative focused on using data to improve basic services in underserved areas.
After returning to Los Angeles in 2013, Raman became involved in homelessness advocacy and co-founded the SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition. She entered electoral politics in 2020, defeating incumbent councilmember David Ryu to win a seat on the Los Angeles City Council. She was re-elected in 2024.
Raman’s mayoral campaign focused on housing affordability, homelessness, public safety, transit and improving basic city services. She has pledged to cut homelessness by half ahead of the 2028 Olympics, while promising a more data-driven approach to evaluating city programmes. Her victory now places her record of urban planning, community organising and civic advocacy at the centre of Los Angeles politics.

A simple Diwali greeting turned into a heartwarming conversation when a rider stopped to wish a disabled delivery worker ahead of Diwali. In a video shared on Instagram by @laxman_kharol_09, the two exchange festive wishes while discussing the worker's daily routine and experience.
👉🏼 A Glimpse Into His Daily Routine - The delivery worker reveals that he works around 9–10 hours daily. He explains that his electric vehicle offers a range of approximately 50 kilometres on a single charge, while his delivery trips generally cover a 5-kilometre radius.
👉🏼 A Festive Moment Of Human Connection - Despite his long working hours, the worker expresses contentment with his job. The conversation ends with both exchanging warm Diwali wishes and appreciation.
👉🏼 The Logical Indian's Perspective - Small gestures of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Taking time to acknowledge people who continue working during festivals reminds us of the value of empathy and human connection. How can we make festivals more inclusive for those working through them?

Ghadi’s Diwali film under #SaareMaelDhoDaalo questioned the way domestic work is dismissed. Created by ADK Fortune and produced by Full Circle Films, the story made festive cleaning an opportunity to recognise the effort, and dignity, of the person doing it.

During a conversation on The Divya Jain Podcast (@divsjain ), actor Anupam Kher (@anupampkher ) shares his thoughts on the qualities needed to achieve long-term success, emphasising hard work, continuous learning and patience.
👉🏼 Why Instant Success Doesn't Last
Anupam Kher believes that widening one's horizons helps expand knowledge and understanding. He encourages young people to work hard, remain patient and keep learning rather than chase instant results. Pointing to the fleeting nature of viral fame, he reminds us that what captures attention today may be forgotten tomorrow. For him, lasting achievement requires consistent effort and patience.
👉🏼 The Logical Indian’s Perspective
In a world driven by quick results and instant recognition, it is easy to overlook the value of long-term effort. Building meaningful skills, staying curious and remaining consistent can create a stronger foundation for growth than chasing momentary attention. Success is not just about being noticed; it is also about creating something that lasts.
Do you think patience and consistency matter more than quick recognition when it comes to achieving success?
