TODAY IS THE DAY! Now live on the Competitive Cyclist YouTube Channel my Kokopelli FKT video: Kokopelli Strong! This has been the hardest secret I’ve ever had to keep…beating the previous FKT by over an hour, my time came in at 11 hours and 53 minutes but it was FAR from easy! It took me 2 attempts and a whole lot of learnings. The first attempt took me through wind chills in the single digits, snow, 25 mile per hour winds, and hypothermia. This isn’t just a story of a recording breaking ride, it’s a gut wrenching story of determination, redemption, and never giving up. Please give it a watch, I promise you won’t be disappointed. 📸: @mahkus.g / @competitivecyclist 09 Jul 2024 Snowshoe Marathon World Cup Win! ❤️ This one means a lot to me and the magnitude of it all is still sinking in. I’ve been coming to Snowshoe for 8 years. The first time was for Collegiate Nationals back in 2015 and I completely surprised myself with the win. I remember riding out of my mind toward the finish and that was the first time I truly viewed myself as a cyclist and I started to dream of what I might be able to do in this sport. One of those dreams came true yesterday at the same venue. As I rode out of my mind toward the finish again but on a much bigger stage and became a World Cup winner. I remember thinking in the final miles how the younger version of myself would be so happy. God is so good and His plan is always the best plan. To all those kids out there and young cyclists, dream bigger, it’ll feel that much better when it comes true. ❤️ 📸: @piperalbrecht 28 Sep 2023 What a day! Winning the Leadville 100 puts me both at a complete loss for words and completely overflowing with gratitude. I’ve known I’ve had this in me for awhile but I’ve just been waiting. I’ve been waiting for everything to come together at the same time on the right day and it came maybe when I expected it the least which offered the most elation possible at the finish. After a shoulder injury last week I took expectations off myself yesterday and just rode the race I wanted to experience. It’s amazing what can happen when we leave expectations at the door and just let things come together. Bike racing is hard. It’s a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual experience. I felt it all out there. So much more to come, and so many stories I can’t wait to share. Praise God. He was with me every pedal stroke of the way. And of course, a massive thank you to all of my sponsors and partners for not only the support but the belief. I have the best team around me. My heart is full ❤️ • 📸: @photowil #cycling #mtb #leadville @ltraceseries @lifetimegrandprix 14 Aug 2022 The last 72 hours have been a total blur. I went from being the first woman to ever climb and descend Kilimanjaro by bicycle in a day and feeling like I was figuratively and literally on top of the world, to needing help to shower. I went from climbing to the Roof of Africa to crutching up stairs. Isn’t that one of the most interesting things about life? The juxtaposition of it all. The incredible highs and the unexpected lows. Feeling invincible one minute and incredibly vulnerable the next. Going from doing something you never thought possible to struggling with things you never thought twice about. I really think the lows make the highest even better and after 30 hours of travel with a broken leg I’m laying here on my couch thinking about those days on the mountain, how I wouldn’t take any of them back, and how they really were some of the best days of my life. 📸: @rachael.galipo 07 Nov 2026 The first known woman to climb and descend Kilimanjaro in one day by bicycle. If that wasn't enough of an accomplishment, @thehannahotto did it in just over 10 hours. She has shown us what you can do when you put your mind to it, having had a small crash resulting in a broken tibia and still making it through the last 2 miles without help. We're extremely proud of her and hope she has a quick recovery 💪 📸 @rachael.galipo 06 Nov 2026 Not even a broken leg could stop Hannah Otto from setting a new cycling FKT on Mount Kilimanjaro. Wait, what? That's right. Hannah just smashed her goal of setting the fastest known time cycling up Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak (19,341 ft) and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Her final time was just over 10 hours, with more than 12,000 ft of elevation gain. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Hannah broke her tibia just two miles from the base after sliding out in a muddy patch. She somehow managed to hop back on the bike and hammer out the remaining descent. Honestly, we're not sure there are words to describe how tough @thehannahotto is. What an effort. Her FKT and performance data were tracked with the COROS DURA 2 SOLAR bike computer, paired with a PACE 4 Pro and COROS Heart Rate Monitor. 06 Nov 2026 Kilimanjaro FKT!! Mission accomplished! Dream come true! The first known woman to climb and descend Kilimanjaro in one day by bicycle!! From the dark hours of the early morning and listening to the monkeys scream at me in the rainforest to steep pitches over 40% gradients, to scrambling over rocks with a bike on my back, to a 19,300 foot summit covered in snow this was the best experience of my entire life and also the hardest thing I’ve ever done. As if it wasn’t hard enough, with 2 miles to go I had a small crash. It was simple, just sliding out in some mud. But my foot got caught and I felt the bone snap. I laid in the mud feeling my dreams slip away, and that felt more painful than any broken bone. I crawled to my bike, used it as a crutch, and finished the final 2 miles pedaling with one leg to the finish. As I came to the finish Clayton ran to my side and I yelled to him to not touch me so my effort would still count. X-rays show a broken tibia. I think this shows that a dream may just be the most powerful thing in the world. This film will be absolutely epic; that I’m sure of. Please help others accomplish their dreams by donating to World Bicycle Relief at the link in my bio. Thank you you @intrepidtravel for the outstanding on ground support team, @scottsportsusa, @competitivecyclist, @4iiiicom, @girocycling, @pearlizumiofficial, @kendabicycle_us, @dtswiss, @corosglobal 📸: @rachael.galipo 04 Nov 2026 We did it! First summit to 19,300 feet complete! The entire crew made it to the top to celebrate this momentous moment together. Now we descend all the way back to the bottom and I’ll attempt to summit in just one day on November 3rd. After seeing this whole mountain piece by piece, it scares me. Things can change in an instant and the only constant is inconsistency. But that’s the entire point. I’m diving into the fear, I’m believing despite not knowing. I hope what anyone takes away from this attempt is the bravery to try without promise. We’re almost at $60K raises for World Bicycle Relief via The Intrepid Foundation! Let’s get there before I go back up. 📸: @rachael.galipo • @intrepidtravel @theintrepidfoundation 01 Nov 2026 Every day on this mountain is a completely different experience; from landscapes to temperature to altitude to sensations, the hardest part has been anticipating the unknown. I’m so grateful the @corosglobal new DURA 2 came out in time for this trip because I’ve been hanging on every data point. As power continues to drop at high altitudes I’ve been paying closer attention to its relationship to heart rate. Instead of tracking miles I’m tracking elevation climbed. Watching gradients has allowed me to know when energy is better spent walking or riding (when over 14K feet) and the touchscreen even works with my thick summit gloves. I can’t wait to share all the data from this epic adventure. 📸: @rachael.galipo 31 Oct 2026 15,400 feet! We’ve still got a long ways to go but I’m literally starting to see the summit more clearly. I’ve watched this idea turn into a dream which turned into a goal and now it’s turning into reality before my vary eyes. Please don’t pinch me because I don’t want to wake up from this dream. Attempt day is drawing nearer and @intrepidtravel has thought through every single detail. Help us go Beyond the Summit by clicking on the link in my bio. 📸: @rachael.galipo 30 Oct 2026 43 local Tanzanians. That’s how many crew members we have with us on the mountain. Today I had the opportunity to meet them all, shake their hands, and say thank you to every single one. “Thank you for allowing me to be a guest on your mountain,” those were my final words in my address to them today (that was then translated into Swahili). It’s incredibly special to watch how they move on the mountain, the tricks they know, and memories they keep. Our lead guide has summited Kilimanjaro over 180 times! I will be attempting something big in a few days time, but our goal with the film is to also highlight the remarkable feats that many of these people call their every day lives. Thank you @intrepidtravel and theintrepidfoundation ❤️ 📸: @rachael.galipo 29 Oct 2026 New kit day for our Beyond the Summit Kilimanjaro mission. Inspired by the 5 climate zones of Kilimanjaro and featuring the topographical lines of the mountain it’s a tribute to this beautiful place. When I climb a mountain or aim to set an FKT I never aim try to “conquer it.” I aim to befriend the landscape. During our acclimatization period, I’m learning from the mountain and building connection to this place. And when I need just a little more “oomph” on attempt day I’ll have our Beyond the Summit logo on my shoulder to remind me what this is all about. To support our mission, please consider donating to World Bicycle Relief through our Intrepid Travel Foundation website at the link in my bio. Thank you @pearlizumiofficial for bringing this kit to life. 📸: @rachael.galipo 28 Oct 2026
