AI promises a more productive world, but we must manage the transition. See @Kristalina.Georgieva blog on why the world can’t afford to get AI wrong. Link in Bio 07 Nov 2026 What are the key takeaways from the #IMFMeetings? Our spokesperson wraps up the week with four things that stood out. Watch here: 17 Oct 2026 The Annual Meetings in Bangkok are winding down, but the conversations continue. On Day 6, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and IMFC Chair Mohammed Al-Jadaan shared key takeaways from the International Monetary and Financial Committee meeting. The day also featured the annual Per Jacobsson Foundation Lecture, where Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark delivered the keynote address, exploring how rapid advances in artificial intelligence could reshape economies and societies and what they could mean for growth and innovation. 17 Oct 2026 Bangkok’s trademark energy was palpable throughout the week at the #IMFMeetings! The Queen Sirikit Convention Center buzzed with ideas, connections, and conversations on how to navigate the economic crosscurrents we face and keep creating opportunities for people everywhere.⁣ 17 Oct 2026 Day 5 at the Annual Meetings in Bangkok turned to some of the big questions shaping the global economy. Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva joined Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh for a fireside chat on the economic outlook and the policy choices ahead. A flagship seminar on AI and the global economy explored what rapid advances in artificial intelligence could mean for productivity, jobs, growth, and financial stability. We also released our Regional Economic Outlooks for Europe and the Western Hemisphere, offering a closer look at the economic landscape and policy priorities across both regions. 16 Oct 2026 Halfway through the Annual Meetings in Bangkok. Day 4 brought regional outlooks for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Caucasus, and Sub-Saharan Africa, plus a look at central bank decision-making and the Debate on the Global Economy. 15 Oct 2026 Day 3 in Bangkok 🇹🇭 🌏. Here’s a glimpse of the #IMFMeetings in motion! 14 Oct 2026 Day 3 at the Annual Meetings in Bangkok put resilience in focus. The Fiscal Monitor press briefing looked at rising debt, fiscal pressures, and the policy choices needed to rebuild. Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva briefed the press on the IMF’s Global Policy Agenda, laying out the priorities for navigating a more uncertain global environment. The Bangkok Blueprint turned to financial integrity, exploring how countries can make financial services more resistant to fraud. At Pathways to Resilience, policymakers shared lessons on what helps reforms take hold and endure, while Governor Talks brought country perspectives on navigating uncertainty, strengthening institutions, and adapting to change. Another day of insightful discussions and actionable ideas to build stronger, more resilient economies. 14 Oct 2026 The latest World Economic Outlook finds that the global economy remains resilient, but sustaining that resilience is becoming increasingly costly. Growth is projected at 3.1% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027, as the war in the Middle East weighs on activity through higher energy and food prices, while AI-related investment provides an offsetting boost. Inflation is also projected to rise to 4.7% in 2026 before easing to 4.1% in 2027. Risks remain tilted to the downside, including renewed escalation in the Middle East and a reassessment of AI-related expectations. But upside risks are also present if AI investment proves more persistent, productivity gains materialize faster, trade arrangements improve, and higher fossil fuel prices accelerate investment in energy security. The policy priorities are to rebuild fiscal space, strengthen energy security, improve AI readiness, and keep trade and cooperation channels open. Click the link in our bio for more! 13 Oct 2026 Walk with us around the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand and feel the vibes of the #IMFMeetings. 12 Oct 2026 That’s a wrap on Day 1 of the 2026 Annual Meetings in Thailand! Yesterday's conversations looked at the forces shaping Asia’s future, how AI is transforming labor markets and the future of work, and how economies can build greater resilience in a rapidly changing world. Today, the focus turns to the global economic and financial outlook with the launch of the latest World Economic Outlook and Global Financial Stability Report. Follow along throughout the week for more from Bangkok. 12 Oct 2026 How is AI transforming economies and the future of work? IMF’s Sabina Bhatia and AI entrepreneur Ayesha Khanna tackled that question, and why empowering women and girls in the digital age matters, at #IMFInspired. Swipe for highlights. Full conversation at the link in bio. 12 Oct 2026
