On Saturday afternoon, the inaugural @berwickwhiskyfestival took place inside Berwick Town Hall, with more than 100 attendees sampling drams from more than 30 different brands 🥃 As a major malt supplier to the Scotch whisky sector from our Tweed Valley Maltings, it was fantastic to support this industry event taking place right on our doorstep by providing a site tour for distillery representatives on the Friday afternoon 👌 Quality Manager Cole hosted colleagues from @tomatinwhisky, @ianmacleodeu, International Beverage and CVH Spirits, which included a visit to our peated malt production plant, while he was also on-hand during the festival to answer attendees' malt-related questions ❓ Big shout-out to the organisers for making the inaugural event such a success and we look forward to being back next year ⏩ 04 Nov 2026

A single malt milestone in the Scottish Borders 🙌 Earlier this week, The Borders Distillery in Hawick announced the release of its inaugural single malt whisky and the first whisky distilled in the Scottish Borders since 1837 🥃 Since spirit production began in 2018, we have supplied malt to The Borders Distillery from our Tweed Valley Maltings in Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is less than 40 miles away as the crow flies 🌍 However, our relationship with the distillery extends beyond simply malt supply through Borders Growers & Distillers, a partnership bringing together The Borders Distillery, Simpsons Malt and ten farming businesses located within a 30-mile radius of Hawick, creating a fully traceable malting barley supply chain 🌾 After eight years, we'd like to congratulate The Borders Distillery team on this landmark achievement and wish them every success with the launch 🤝 Read more via the link in our bio 📲 25 Sep 2026
