“The dog’s got to fit”, was the only brief from @blueboots on this new build. The 1996 GT Outpost frame I brought back from the US, having been sold it by a bloke whose late father originally purchased it in Pennsylvania, and kept it very neat. The wizards from @omafiets built it up very nicely, with all the proper stuff, after @hotfootcycles fashioned the frame up for disc brakes. It’s excellent to ride, I love it, and Boris will too. 19 Oct 2026

There is a lot to love about this build but you can’t go past the hand whittled found timber stick, lovingly tung oiled and faithfully attaching the Fabio’s chest bag to the front rack. They also hand bent the Suntour Sprint front derailleur to better shift on the Vélo Orange Grand cru Crankset 9 speed rear shifting on a 10 speed cassette via the Rivendell Silver2 bar end shifters Paul Klamper Brakes Hand built wheels with Sp dynamo with Hope Pro5 rear hub, Dt Gr531 rims Nitto front Rack Chainring front light mount Berthoud Aspin Open leather saddle Ritchey Classic seatpost Velo Orange stem and decalleur Nitto Allroad Plus Bar MKS Sylvan Gordito Pedals Fun fact three different staff members all ride Surly Midnight Specials making it the most popular staff bike by far, a clear sign of a beautifully designed bike ! 14 Oct 2026

First New Curve Belgie Ultra + rolling out the door is this beautiful custom painted build. David asked Steve at the Candy Factory Paintworks for “a paint scheme that referenced the green duco and chrome trim of the 1970’s Alfasud he learnt to drive in” and well it’s an absolute stunner. The Belgie Ultra + builds on the classic endurance road design of the Belgie Ultra but with some extra features for randonneur style riding, hidden fender mounts, internal dynamo routing, clearance for 700x40 with fenders or up to 700x45 without. 13 Oct 2026

Film screening and Slow Race recap: we had an absolutely blast last week hosting some bike games and a film screening to get folks excited about next years Weird Bike Ride. Bikes were raced very slowly, prizes were won, films were watched ! Thanks @heapsnormal for hosting us! Thanks to Brooks England for the prize saddles. Thanks to Zenga Bros for making the most smile inducing short film “Tall Bikes Will Save The World” such a joy ! 12 Oct 2026
