😊 Feel-good picture books to brighten their day 🌈
The right book can bring a smile, soothe a worry or open up a conversation. And because young children often make sense of the world through what they see, illustrations can help them recognise familiar experiences, understand emotions and talk about how they feel.

The Bayeux Tapestry continues to inspire us in unexpected ways.
One of our Crows has spent time stitching this miniature embroidery, inspired by the remarkable story told through the tapestry's scenes.
As we learned while working on the books, the original embroidery was a truly extraordinary feat of craftsmanship:
✏️ The design may first have been sketched onto linen using charcoal
🧶 Threads were then stitched over these lines to bring figures and stories to life
🪡 The outlines were worked first, followed by layers of colour and intricate detail
Watching this piece slowly take shape has been a lovely reminder of the patience, skill and creativity behind every stitch. We're incredibly proud of our talented Crow, who has created such a meaningful keepsake of our journey with the Bayeux Tapestry.
Inspired by the techniques shared in our book, British Museum: The History of the Bayeux Tapestry 📚
