Thank you for following Artemis II. We’re just getting started. Welcome to the Artemis generation.

Today, we’re excited to welcome @potus to @nasakennedy as we begin building a global stage worthy of America’s leadership in aerospace.
CAPEWEEK will be a great American gathering for the people and technologies shaping the future of aerospace, bringing together builders, operators, entrepreneurs, engineers, pilots, investors, explorers, and hundreds of thousands of members of the public.
There is no better stage for this than Kennedy Space Center and the runway that welcomed the Space Shuttle home.
This is where America can show the world what we are building next.

🚨 BREAKING: Introducing X-70 Fractal, @nasa’s newest experimental aircraft!
This crewed, modular aircraft will allow the agency to rapidly swap out internal & external payloads to help keep pushing the frontiers of aviation technology! X-70 Fractal is a high-performance platform to test advanced flight-control, maneuverability, and other cutting-edge technologies in real flight.
“We expect her first flight under the NASA banner within the next two years, and X-70 is just one part of this new beginning for aeronautics. This is why people come to NASA: to build, to learn, and most importantly, to fly.” - @nasaadmin
The X-70 Fractal has a takeoff weight of 10,000 pounds and is designed to cruise at Mach .75, reach altitudes of up to 45,000 feet, and provide an operational range exceeding about 1,726 miles (1,500 nautical miles). These capabilities will enable NASA to conduct demanding flight research across a broad range of operating conditions.

If you’re under 26, you have never lived a day without someone orbiting above you.
26 years ago today, the first resident crew arrived at the ISS. Humanity has had a home in space ever since.
The research and advances made possible by our crews, teams on the ground and international partners have helped prepare us to live and work on the Moon and Mars.
As we transition to the next era of our presence in low Earth orbit, we build on everything they have made possible.

For generations, @nasaarmstrong has been at the center of American flight research, testing experimental aircraft, advancing new aviation technologies, and operating some of the most unique aircraft anywhere in the world.
Today I spent time with the workforce, answering their questions and recognizing several employees whose recent contributions have made a real impact across the center. I was also proud to announce Troy Asher as the center’s permanent director. Troy has spent his career flying experimental aircraft, solving hard engineering problems, and leading the teams that make ambitious flight research possible.
We are rebuilding NASA’s X-plane portfolio, restoring flight-test capabilities, and putting Armstrong in position to keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the air.

The most demanding real estate project in history: building a Moon Base.
@potus wants to know the people, the hardware, and how we’re tracking against the schedule. Artemis III is an incredibly demanding test mission, and a critical step toward an enduring American presence on the Moon.

What will matter most is what we accomplish and all that follows. Returning American astronauts to the Moon, building a Moon Base, and opening the door to discoveries and opportunities we can’t yet imagine.
When the time came, the Artemis generation chose to go, and we went.

Spent time with our astronaut candidates and Artemis III crew at @nasa HQ today. Different stages of training, but a shared determination to take on some of the most demanding endeavors of their lives.
A lot will be asked of this group in the years ahead, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they accomplish!

Welcome to the Oval Office, Artemis III Crew! 🇺🇸🚀

More money, more time and flying less will not make spaceflight safer or make us more effective at achieving our objectives.
We are done defending the status quo. We are not going to compromise NASA’s effectiveness or capability trying to appease every constituency and, in the process, satisfy no one.
We are here for the mission, focused on executing @potus’ national space policy, achieving the objectives entrusted to us and delivering the kind of world-changing headlines worthy of America’s space program.
26 Oct 2026
Under @potus’ national space policy, the first mission to begin building the Moon Base launches this December, with robotic landers and rovers to follow at a near-monthly cadence in 2027.

American leadership in space demands results. At @nasa, we measure success by the outcomes we deliver, not how fast we spend taxpayer dollars. We intend to make every dollar count.
