Sweden was both a place I never thought I’d visit, nor would ever expect to find waves…but thousands of kilometers later, I can safely say we have scoured as much coastline as the Baltic has to offer, with some Atlantic and North Sea sojourns in the mix. The waves we found, while often fleeting, poised challenges that took my breath away. Anything from snow storms to 1-hour swell windows kept us on our toes. As Freddie continuously showed me the landscape of his home, I in turn learnt just how passionate and extreme his take on surfing is. And as the challenging, beautiful, and ever frigid sessions continued to add up, Freddie’s dreams came to fruition when a big wave showed signs of turning on... and one snowy strike-mission later, i am still speechless by what we experienced. my new film on Freddie is live on Youtube now, you can watch it via the link in my bio! 30 Apr 2026

often times i consider myself indifferent towards photography, instead excited to focus more on the dynamic and arduous world of filmmaking. That somewhat exasperated outlook comes after a decade of photographing nonstop, everyday, everything… making an image and then immediately moving on to the next. little appreciation for a photo once it has been taken, just excitement to go out and capture something new and different. Shaking myself of that outlook, i feel like more recently it has gifted me clarity on the beauty of being able to pick up a photo camera and freeze a moment, creating a postcard of a sliver in time, one that will never to occur again. I owned an art gallery in Santa Barbara for almost 5 years yet never had a show for myself; not out of humility (lol!), but because i could never step back and say a body of my still work was done, ready to be shared and judged and displayed and purchased. Instead, i just keep plugging away, trying to capture those things I appreciate most in my short blip of a lifespan. open-ended bodies of work lie in all my fascinations, and more than a decade after picking up my first Nikon body i am still on the hunt. This might be my favorite series, one spent looking for something so simple… just a lonely cloud, hovering over the sea, the perfect intersection of the disciplines of minimalism and subject matter i love most. 30 Jan 2023

After months of planning and weeks tracking swells across the Southern Hemisphere, all roads led to the End of the Road - home to local watermen and chargers Matahi Drollet and Tahurai Henry. I brought together one hell of a crew from around the world who knew what this would take… and could swim 😅 With a quiver of cameras, rolls of film and plenty of Gorilla Tape, we headed out to the channel for a strike mission none of us will forget.
