Welcome to Fonseca Farm, a 15-acre homestead in Texas owned by @kelvin.gb and @megantron512 with the loving support of our friends and family! Just one year ago, Kelvin was undergoing a bilateral above the knee amputation. While we knew it was coming, there’s still no way to really prepare for that. A few months ago Kelvin reached a huge milestone by throwing out his wheelchair and deciding to walk full time on his stubbies. Soon after, I (Megan) fractured my leg quite seriously, had surgery, and am currently on my own path to recovery. I had many moments throughout the past year where the word ā€œunluckyā€ came to mind. It felt like just one thing after another and so many challenges for a newly married couple. But this week, I sat on our 15 acre property for the first time and I can’t say anymore we are anything but lucky. To be able to be on such a beautiful piece of Texas countryside with all the possibilities it brings, none of the events of the past year matter anymore. Anyway, there’s a bit of our backstory and an introduction to our start. We don’t know where the journey will take us exactly but we are looking forward to sharing our ups and downs and showing off the hard work we will put into this land. Give us a follow to see what a bilateral amputee and his autistic wife can do with a little slice of Texas! #homestead #fonsecafarm #texasfarm #homesteading #texasliving #amputeestrong #autistichomesteader 20 Oct 2025 Been a busy last several weeks. Went back to back weekends for ADCC Dallas, a super fight, and IBJJF Nationals. All were super tough matches for me and while I lost them all, I had moments that I was proud of and saw growth. After one weekend off, I competed at IBJJF summer Open. Lost all my gi matches but by points/an advantage and was pleased with my performances. Lost my first NoGi match, but came back in absolute division winning quarter finals by straight ankle lock!!! It was my first sub in IBJJF and first win in the blue belt division at IBBJF. I recently told @3threexb in a negative way that I didn’t know anyone else in BJJ who had lost as many matches as I have. He turned it around on me and said that i should see that in a positive light because it just shows that most people who lose as much as I have quit before finding success. I have to remind myself I’ve only been a blue belt for 8 months and am competing in a super tough division. But every event I see more and more improvement. As my coach says ā€œcan’t stop, won’t stopā€. Next I’m looking for an ADCC win and IBJJF gold šŸ˜Ž Thank you as always to @kelvin.gb for being my number one supporter! To @3threexb for being the best coach I could ask for in this journey. And shoutout to @shan_leigh26 and @iselaisella for competing along side me! Got a few more comps in the coming month, including my first international comp in Brazil and JiuJitsuCon, so be on the lookout for more improvement and more wins. šŸ“ø: @claymedia.us #bjj #womenofbjj #ibjjf #bjjbluebelt #texasbjj 19 Jul 2025 Got tired of beating up the bag in the home gym so went to get some real work in. My cardio sucked, my form was trash, and my footwork was all over the place but I really had a great time sparring seriously for the first time since my leg surgery, one of the few times I’ve sparred at all in a couple years. Really miss it and will be taking the opportunities I get to get rounds in. 26 Oct 2026 Somewhere down in Texas 20 Oct 2026 I had every excuse to not compete at World Masters. My mouth still hurt from wisdom tooth surgery the previous week. I only got to train 4 times this month while my opponents were training 4+ times a week. I’ve only been back to competition for 3 months after my serious leg fracture end of last year. My blue belt BJJ record was 8-70 leading up to this tournament. I could’ve saved myself some serious money registering for the tournament and traveling to Vegas and any one of those excuses would’ve been totally legitimate should someone ask why I wasn’t competing. But that’s not me. I wanted to do World Masters for the first time and the circumstances are irrelevant. Winning is irrelevant. Pushing myself and having fun in a sport I love is all that matters. One day the wins will come. Did I win? No. Did I get submitted? Nope! Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not. And that is more than anyone else who found an excuse not to sign up can say. Thank you to my lovinho @kelvin.gb for coaching me (even though it meant losing out on his photography gifts) šŸ’™ See y’all in Vegas again next year 🫔 in the meantime, time to prepare for Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu World Championships šŸ‘€ 06 Sep 2026 Belated post but some great pics from @claymedia.us and @silverbackclicks at JJWL Houston. They always manage to make me look like I kicked butt even when I got my butt kicked. Struggled my way through Gi, had some good moments although ultimately lost NoGi, but had a fun time competing as always. My first IBJJF World Masters this weekend regardless of whether it’s the ā€œright timeā€ because winning doesn’t matter, challenging myself does. Special shout out to @kelvin.gb and @danielstelzgbjj @graciebarrabryantx for the coaching and support. 03 Sep 2026 Happy to announce that I’ll be back at the 2026 World Para Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi, proudly representing Team USA! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø My first World Championship was in 2017, and my last one was in 2019. Since then, so much has happened in my life, from moving to the United States and finding the love of my life, to suffering a devastating knee injury that led to the amputation of both of my legs. After the surgery, I had no idea what my future would look like. I truly believed I would never be able to compete in Jiu-Jitsu again or even step back onto the mats. But once again, Jiu-Jitsu reminded me why it’s the most adaptable sport in the world. I had to relearn everything, from putting on my gi and tying my belt to learning how to move around the mats without legs and reinventing my game with new techniques and submissions. There is no way I would have made it back to the mats without my incredible wife, my in-laws and everyone who supported me throughout my limb-loss journey. I will always be grateful for your encouragement, love, and belief in me. I’m incredibly grateful and honored to represent this amazing country at the 2026 World Para Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi. This is my opportunity to give back, in a small way, for all the incredible opportunities and blessings I’ve received since making the United States my home. A special shoutout to @rustin_nubjitsu for putting together this incredible team of warriors. One thing is certain: @usparajitsu is coming to Abu Dhabi to be the most victorious and dominant team at this championship. Let’s make history! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ„‹ 14 Jul 2026 Today I was supposed to be in Austin competing in my first IBJJF Masters NoGi event but the farm had different plans. Yesterday I did Gi (I’ll post a follow up on that eventually) and while enjoying dinner after competing, I got a call that it looked like Serena (one of our goats) was going to give birth. We immediately drove back to the farm, hoping to make it back for NoGi today but Serena had other plans and waited until late this morning to give birth to her adorable baby boy. Really bummed about missing out on my NoGi matches I’d been really looking forward to but I know I’d have been more upset to miss this. We’ll be putting together a video for @fonsecafarmtx YouTube documenting the experience soon. #goatsofinstagram #farmlife #homestead 12 Jul 2026 We’re in Dallas for the @usparajitsu Team USA Trials and Seminar, taking place tomorrow at @north_south_jj šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ„‹ 19 Jun 2026 Fun day at NAGA Houston yesterday! Got myself a NoGi win. Learned a lot of lessons and have clear direction for my IBJJF Masters 1 debut next month. Thanks to @kelvin.gb for coaching me through the matches! And to @graciebarrabryantx for helping with my preparation and supporting me. 07 Jun 2026 COMEBACK SEASON! Being out of competition for the last 8.5 months recovering from my leg fracture felt like an eternity. This weekend I finally got to make my return. After losing my first match by points, I came back in the second with a punch choke submission to get 🄈. Then I got ran through in the absolute divison but I’ll take my win with pride after such a long time out of comp, and having less opportunities to train. Running it again at NAGA in < 3 weeks. I love this so much! Thanks to @kelvin.gb for being my #1 supporter and capturing these memories! Thanks to @danielstelzgbjj @amandasakaya and @xandy06_bjj for being in my corner and making the difference. And of course shoutout to the amazing @graciebarrabryantx team for welcoming me and supporting me. 18 May 2026 If you ask my mom how many kids she has, she’d say 3. She would be lying, but only because she doesn’t even realize the impact she’d had on so many other kids, it just is in her nature. On top of 3 kids she successfully she’s been the best mom to her son-in-law, whom she put her life on hold for to live with and help care for 2 months post-amputation. She’s been a mom to 14 kids who for a period of time didn’t have their own mom serving that role, and she treated every one of them like they were her own. And now, she is a child advocate for 3 teenagers who have no one else fighting for them as they traverse the court system because of their own mom’s poor choices. There are very few people who are more deserving of the happiest of mother’s days (not to mention that it’s her birthday too!). Lots of love and a happy Mother’s Day and birthday to the best mom a child could ask for! 10 May 2026
