We’ve worked with the vibrant PS 102 in East Harlem for the past 3 years. As you can see in our latest program video, the creative impact on their school community grows stronger each year.
When a school, Pre-K through 6th grade, signs on with us, they get full access to our curriculum platform. This includes bilingual lessons exploring each Principle, tutorials, guided readings, and so much more. We do training sessions, parent workshops, and teacher support throughout the entire year.
These 10 Principles become a springboard for the teacher to create meaningful moments and connections for their students.
Our teachers learn how to incorporate the Principles into their daily vocabulary with the kids. They learn ways to recognize how creativity naturally exists in their students and their learning processes. And we show them how to integrate the Principles across all academic subjects, so kids are exposed to the Principles in a variety of settings and situations and gain emotional connection to the content.
In this video, you’ll notice how it’s not only the students who benefit from learning about these Principles. The teachers reflect on their own instruction and practices as much as the kids. And with each passing year, their grasp on the Principles and their creative confidence grows stronger.

Yes, we’re talking about the Choose Creativity curriculum! We’ve officially launched our direct-to-teacher curriculum membership (Link in bio). That means, individual teachers from across the country can get access to our transformative Pre-K - 6th grade curriculum and receive the training to get started!
Please help us reach more educators. We hope you will share our unique work with a principal, educator, counselor, social worker, parent coordinator, community director, homeschool parent, or PTA leader you know – promo code SAVE20 gives them $20 off!
Creative confidence is contagious, so let’s pass this link on! https://choosecreativity.org/teacher-leader/

Last Thursday, we hosted our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Celebration for the inspired teachers using our curriculum. What a fun group! We laughed, met new friends, and swapped Choose Creativity stories. The evening confirmed that creativity really is contagious!
We knew we were in good company when a teacher shouted out “Say your favorite Principle” to replace Say Cheese during the group photo. We heard a lot of shouts saying Resourceful btw!
A special welcome to our new educators from District 1 and 3. A warm welcome back to our educators from District 4! And thank you to our Choose Creativity Champions.

We love sharing stories from the classroom! At a recent new teacher training, Choose Creativity Champion Chloe Hamlin shared a story about how to be resourceful and "make (or rather, explain) something from nothing".
She said, "I was having a really tough time teaching a math lesson about adding unit fractions—it was going in one ear and out the other, and nothing was clicking for the kids. So I thought, 'What do I have that can help explain this?' As I looked around my room, I grabbed my Magna-Tiles and stuck the halves on my whiteboard. Showing the math concept in this way was a lightbulb moment for the entire class! And I was able to incorporate into the lesson how I, as a teacher, was being resourceful and inventive to help them understand".

We're working hard behind the scenes over here preparing for our Summer Institute Teacher Trainings kicking off next week. AND, adding our new tutorial videos to our curriculum platform. AND, best of all, building out our new direct-to-teacher experience for our website. It's still a work in progress but it's coming together quite well. We are so excited to show teachers across the country how to build creative confidence in themselves and their students! (Note: Image is a mock-up!)

An oldie but goodie by Lulu! Happy 4th everyone! Let's focus on the very best part about this country -- the Authentic, Resourceful, Curious, and Unconventional people who call the USA home. A shout-out to NYC for being an amazing example of bringing people together every day!

Three generations of Creative Confidence at the 2026 Choose Creativity Awards!

Teacher Lamar Devine of P.S. 102 (aka, the NYC Mr. Frizzle) spoke beautiful words at the Choose Creativity Awards. Here's an excerpt from his speech --
Over the past three years, our school has embraced the 10 Principles of Creativity. I bring these values into my classroom every single day so my students feel encouraged to be Curious and explore, be Expressive and create, and be Intuitive and believe in their own ideas. I’ve seen firsthand how these 10 Principles build confidence in students.
I try to model those qualities for my students so they understand creativity isn’t just something you do during art time — it’s a way of thinking and living.
I see these Principles come alive in small moments every day — moments that really stay with children.
One day, my classroom key broke inside the door lock. Half the key was stuck, and I remember standing there thinking, “Okay… what now?” I decided to problem-solve. I grabbed two paper clips, bent them apart, and slowly — inch by inch — managed to pull the broken piece out.
The next day, I told my students the story.
To us, it might sound like a simple moment. But to them, it became a lesson about being Resourceful and Inventive. They saw that creativity can help you solve real-life problems.
Ever since then, whenever something goes wrong in class, one of my students will say, “Mr. Devine, remember the key story!” And I love that, because it means the lesson stuck.

A special thank you to our heroes and true stars of the Choose Creativity Awards, the teachers, administrators, and school staff who inspire their kids to be Curious, Expressive, Resourceful and so much more every day!
We are building a community of teachers that lead with creative confidence. And at this year's CCAs, we recognized an inaugural group of them that we call our Choose Creativity Champions. Congrats to Mr. Devine, Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Delli Carpini of P.S. 102 in East Harlem! These like-minded educators, brought together by their belief in the 10 Principles of Creativity, will help drive the culture of our community and inspire the next generation of creative educators.
We’re excited to be working with more and more districts and schools here in NYC. But we also realize that there are so many teachers and kids beyond NYC that would love using Choose Creativity in their classrooms, so we are over-the-moon with excitement to announce that starting this summer, we will begin offering our full curriculum directly to teachers around the country and the world through our digital platform.
We are just getting started here...!
