Since retiring, Iāve had a little more free time to explore something I didnāt spend much time doing throughout my playing career: social media.
Iāve really enjoyed breaking down game film and digging into the little details that separate good basketball from great basketball.
Growing up and throughout my career, Iāve noticed thereās a lot of great content but also a lot of advice that doesnāt necessarily translate to what players will actually be asked to do at the college and professional levels.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what the best players in the world do differently. The decisions they make, the habits they have, and the small details that allow them to execute at an elite level.
Thatās really what Iām trying to focus on with these breakdowns: the details that actually matter.
Iāve really enjoyed putting these together and sharing some of the things Iāve learned throughout my career.
If youāre a player, coach, or just someone who loves basketball, check out some of the breakdowns on my YouTube channel. Link in bio

Some people enter your life by chance. Others arrive exactly when theyāre meant to.
I met Kevin Pangos 17 years ago at a low point in my personal life. At the same time I was rebuilding my business and I had promised myself one thing: I would only pour into athletes who would pour everything back. No half-measures. No maybes.
When my good friend Sam Gibbs called to tell me about this kid I āhad to meetā, I told him my new standard. He laughed and said āDont worry...you two are perfect for each orher!ā He was right and I am forever grateful for that.
From day one, I didnāt sell Kevin a dream. I gave him the math. I told him:
āA 6-foot kid from Holland Landing Ontario doesnāt make it by matching the best. If you just do that you donāt stand a chance. He doesnāt even make it by outworking them while walking the same road. He makes it by carving a new road no one else would think to take.ā Kevin looked me dead in the eye that day and said āI promise you, I will do whatever it takes.ā Lots have said that. He truly meant it.
We did every conceivable exercise you could do in a gym but it went WAYYY beyond that....He dribbled blindfolded, shot through strobe glasses, sprinted with Olympic track coaches, walked on slacklines...He chased every method most athletes would laugh off: breathwork, eldoa, yoga, pilates, feldenkrais and countless others. If there was an edge to be found, we looked for it.
Talent opens the door.
Obsession keeps you in the room.
Hereās the truth most coaches rarely admit: we are only as good as the athletes willing to trust us. Kevin gave me that trust, and surrendered fully to the process.
Most athletes leave the game wondering āwhat if.ā
Kevin, you never will.
You emptied the tank. You left no stone unturned. You can walk away with nothing left on the table and your head held high.
No regrets. No what-ifs.
Just a lifeās work, fully given.
Congrats on incredible career. It has truly been an honour to walk this road beside you. Thank you, brother. šš

When I was a kid I would bring a ball everywhere.
Iād write my goals on it. Sleep with it.
Dream about what I could accomplish.
I grew up dreaming of playing in the NBA. I know thatās common for a kid, but I meant it with every bone in my body.
Everything I did was about maximizing my chance of that dream.
It wasnāt the path I envisioned. Going undrafted. Spending 6 years overseas.
Then, signing a guaranteed contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers at 28.
Iām fortunate to have had something that woke me up every morning. Something I wanted to pour everything into.
My dream for my kids, is that they find something that makes them feel the same way.
It takes a village to reach the highest levels & Iām incredibly thankful for mine!
Thank you Gonzaga, Coach Few, Tommy Lloyd and my teammates for believing in a kid from a small town in Canada.
Thank you to the Canadian National Team & every club, coach & teammate along the way: Gran Canaria, Zalgiris, Barcelona, Zenit, Cleveland, Milan, Valencia, Napoli & Erokspor.
My agents Zach, Mark & Priority Sports team. For guidance throughout the journey.
Matt Nicholāthank you for teaching me, supporting me & always being there in my corner.
Mom, Dad & Kaylaāthank you for the sacrifices, love and support from day one.
Liv, Deks & Lukeāyou motivated me to be better every day while reminding me what matters most.
Kate, I canāt explain how incredible youāve been. You made countless sacrifices to allow me to pursue my dreams. This journey is as much yours as it is mine. I love you!
My career came with ultimate highs and some low lows. Injuries made these last few years incredibly difficult, but Iām grateful I fought long enough for my kids to watch me compete.
I donāt know if any athlete finishes their career completely content. We always believe weāre capable of more.
But I can 1000% say I gave it everything I had. I never let the circumstances dictate my approach.
So, to that kid on the driveway. By himself. For hours and hours.
We did it!
We left it all out there and accomplished everything you always dreamed of.
Now itās time to do the same for the next chapter.
Thank you, Basketball!

Grateful for everything this past year has taught me. Not always the way I envisioned it in my head, but then again Iāve learned things along the way I never would have otherwise. Excited for what 25 has in store!
And damn, these kids really donāt stop growing!
