Linnea Sterte is a comic artist from Sweden, multi-Eisner Award nominee, Angouleme Prix Revelation and Ignatz Award winner, and famous for drawing frogs in her Kickstarter-funded book A Frog in the Fall published by @peowstudio. She’s the author of Stages of Rot, World Heist, Cat Cafe and A Garden of Spheres, and contributed to a handful of other comic projects over the years. Her latest book, The Prisoners on Dozmary Craig, will be debuting at BEC. This will be her second time visiting New York. Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, comic artist, and Riso printmaker from North Carolina, currently living in Los Angeles. Her narrative work includes the graphic novel adaptation of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, published by @01firstsecond, art book Dreaming In Color, published by Peow2, and various self published, riso-printed comics. Natalie specializes in creating fantasy worlds and characters full of vibrant color. Brian “Box” Brown is an Eisner Award–winning author whose comics have appeared in the New York Times, Playboy, and New York Magazine. His books include the New York Times–bestselling Andre the Giant: Life and Legend, Tetris: The Games People Play, Is This Guy for Real? The Unbelievable Andy Kaufman, Cannabis: The Illegalization of Weed in America, Child Star, and Accidental Czar (with writer Andrew S. Weiss). My next album will be made possible through the help of people who believe in independent art, face-melting distortion, nasty synthesizer, community-building, anti-fascism, anti-capitalism, and doing what we can to make our planet a better place to be through the medium of live music. With everything going on in the world, setting sail on a crowdfunding journey has had a lot of mixed feelings tied to it. It feels selfish. But then I think, really, how can I change the world? The first step always is community building, not only holding events for people to come together but also creating a nonphysical space for people to come to in times of need, to feel togetherness, and to not only share like-mindedness but also be open to challenging each other to grow and push each other to reach goals. I want to create something to give back to my community. As an independent artist who has been doing this thing for 13 years with 3 albums and over 500 shows under my belt, I have built a platform that allows me to help change the world one way or another. I have been able to meet so many amazing people who inspire me to create music, and in turn, I have been told I inspired them: this is exactly what the world needs right now. Even if you contribute a single dollar, your name will be credited on this album. If I don’t reach my set goal, I get no money, and the money goes right back to those who donated. If I do reach my goal, we can make this happen. For November 1st- 30th, I will have this crowdfunding campaign open for contributions. Let’s go make some noise.
