I had the honor of moderating a fireside chat with @jayshetty at the @incmagazine’s #Inc5000. What struck me most about prepping with Jay was his intentionality. His most important ask before we even began? Understanding the audience’s needs. That’s purpose-driven leadership in action…and it’s exactly how we’ve always approached building @eventbrite: putting our community’s needs first. Do you know what it takes to be on the Inc 5000 list? These are the fastest-growing privately held companies…true barometers for what’s possible when vision meets execution🚀. Huge appreciation to @mhofman12, @stephaniemehta, and Bonny Ghosh for creating such an inspiring experience. 🤝 #PurposeDrivenLeadership #Inc5000 #Entrepreneurship #Leadership 27 Oct 2025 Twenty years?! 🎈 Sending love from SF, where this 🤯ride began. Looking back, it’s wild to think I was just 25 when we started this. At the time, my co-founder Kevin was my fiancé...the ultimate “stress test” for a relationship! Along with our co-founder Renaud Visage, we set out to make it possible for anyone, anywhere to host a live experience. To celebrate, we brought the whole family back together—our incredible Britelings! It was a long road back together but between the talent and the energy in the room, it was made clear: once a Briteling, always a Briteling. 🧡 I am so proud to say that two decades later, our mission is more relevant than ever. Our new Social Study report shows we’re in a ‘Reset to Real’ moment that matters. People are craving unrepeatable, off-script moments you can’t find on a feed. The world is demanding to be present in ways that are authentic and raw. And while I have you, I offer some humble bragging like a proud parent about our community. Just last year, creators in 180 countries hosted 4.7M events and sold over 83M paid tickets. That is a lot of connection made IRL and opportunities for indelible memory-making. Because of creators, @Eventbrite was honored with a Fast Company Brands That Matter award again.

Here’s to 20 years of making memories🥂✨ 04 Feb 2026 Kevin turned another year older in September. We’re still celebrating in October, in true Hartz fashion. Rumor has it he’s still wearing the ears 👀 @disneyland 16 Oct 2026 Meet the next group of @entreprenista100 Awards judges. They’re the women behind the brands you already know and love. @themillionairemother, @sandiglandt, @anouckgotlib, @kellyroachofficial, @juliahartz Every application to the Entreprenista 100 Awards is read by founders who’ve scaled companies, secured funding, authored books, and led nonprofits. If your business is chosen as one of our next 100 winners, you’ll be featured in front of millions across our network, opening the door to new opportunities, national exposure, and so much more. This is exactly the recognition you’ve been working toward. Applications close in just 6 days Thursday, Oct 22nd at 11:59 PM EST. Comment AWARDS to apply today. 🏆 16 Oct 2026 Grateful for my seat at the table @emmagrede Magical nights like these don’t just happen to happen - every single detail was thought of and the curation was excellent. The vibe was spot on and the table was bursting with creativity and a common love of being together. 09 Oct 2026 New season, same chaos. Officially in my fall era. 16 Sep 2026 We sat down with Kevin and Julia Hartz, co-founders of @Eventbrite, ahead of our "Small Business. Big Impact." gala. @Kevinhartz and @Juliahartz built Eventbrite around a simple idea: people want to find each other. In this clip, they talk about "fourth spaces," places where your personal life and your community life overlap on purpose. Mahjong night at the local coffee shop. A meetup that turns strangers into regulars. The kind of gathering that makes people feel less alone. It's the same instinct that drives everything we do at Renaissance. We'll be honoring Kevin and Julia at our "Small Business. Big Impact." gala on October 1. When @juliahartz stepped into the CEO role at Eventbrite, she didn’t feel ready. In fact, the first word she uses to describe the transition is “terrifying.” On this episode of Build Mode, Julia talks about learning to lead in real time, the uncertainty that comes with taking the top job, and why even experienced CEOs are sometimes making it up as they go. Watch the full conversation on Build Mode on our YouTube, or listen via your podcast player of choice. 28 Aug 2026 In the same 12-hour span, I went to an 18-month pediatrician appointment and helped secure first-semester freshman university courses. Send help!😵‍💫 #choices 06 Aug 2026 Building a company is one thing. Walking away from it is another.⁣ ⁣ After meeting, falling in love, and launching Eventbrite together (along with co-founder Renaud Visage) in 2006, Julia and Kevin Hartz officially closed the chapter on the ticketing platform they spent two decades building when it was acquired by Bending Spoons late last year. Julia described the transition as a "process of mourning," saying it meant letting go of not just a business, but a community, mission, and purpose that had defined much of her adult life.⁣ ⁣ Now, the couple is embracing the unknown. Julia says she's enjoying time with loved ones, experimenting with AI-powered side projects, and resisting the temptation to believe every success can simply be recreated. Both founders also reflected on Eventbrite's original mission of using tech to bring people together in real life, a need they believe is just as essential today as it was 20 years ago.⁣ ⁣ 📸: Julia Hartz 30 Jul 2026 In 14 days, Eventbrite's ticket revenue went from processing billions of dollars to negative. That was the moment Kevin Hartz and Julia Hartz feared might end the company they had built together as husband and wife. They took it public in 2018, weathered that crisis, and this year sold Eventbrite to Bending Spoons for roughly $500 million. William Salvi sits down with both of them to talk about what it is like to build a company with your spouse, the realities of going public, and more. A new episode of The CEO Series is live now on the Executive House YouTube channel. Link to the episode is in the bio of The CEO Series and Executive House profiles. #Leadership #CEO #BusinessLeadership #Eventbrite #Founder #Founderstory #Entrepreneurship #CEOInterview #BusinessInsights 30 Jul 2026 We have all most likely used Eventbrite at some stage. I just met Julia and Kevin Hartz, co-founders of @eventbrite, who shared the incredible story of how the startup went from zero to becoming a public company and survived the ultimate test of any founder: Going through COVID when all events and revenue stopped overnight. This is one incredible story, completely raw, filled with love, and with one ultimate takeaway: you’ve just got to do it. These are my lessons from this episode 👇 1. Solve real problems, not trends. 2. Curiosity beats assumptions. 3. Complementary founders build stronger companies. 4. Follow customers, not categories. 5. Simplicity wins. 6. Speed matters most in a crisis. 7. Adapt before you’re forced to. 8. Technology should bring people together. 9. Great businesses evolve with every challenge. 10. Entrepreneurship is an identity, not a destination. Available everywhere you listen to podcasts (neweconomies.co) Thank you @juliahartz & Kevin for sharing your story ❤️ #business #motivation #founders #entrepreneurs 07 Jul 2026
