Excited to perform tomorrow ! Grateful for the invitation @theroyalbelgianballet 30 Jan 2025 Hi, I’m Joy Womack - a professional ballerina performing internationally, and the founder behind a growing ecosystem for the future of ballet. 🩰 Trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, I’ve built my career across stages and studios around the world — while developing initiatives that expand access, strengthen training, and create real opportunities for dancers beyond the traditional path. Here is what that looks like today: 🩰Maison de Danse Paris A Paris-based performing arts association dedicated to creating consistent, high-quality performance opportunities for dancers and meaningful access to ballet for audiences. Through curated events, galas, and productions, Maison de Danse Paris supports artists within the French ecosystem, provides professional employment, and builds a cultural space where ballet is experienced regularly — not reserved for rare occasions. 🎓 Corps Paris — Training, Coaching & Courses A structured training platform designed to develop strong, intelligent, and versatile dancers. Corps Paris offers in-person classes and private coaching in Paris, alongside digital programs built on a Vaganova-based foundation. The system emphasizes consistency, repetition, and clarity of technique, supporting dancers, teachers, and students at every stage — from foundational training to pre-professional development. Joy Womack Ballet Foundation A US 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a simple principle: talent should not be limited by circumstance. Through scholarships, mentorship, and material support, the foundation helps dancers access training and opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Ballet carries history, discipline, and beauty. My work is focused on preserving that standard while expanding who has access to it — on stage, in the studio, and beyond. If this resonates with you, follow along — there is much more ahead. 🤍 09 Apr 2026 Episode 4: Joy Womack 01 Mar 2026 Behind every audition video is a whole world. 🤍 A dancer who dared to try. Teachers who kept showing up. Families and communities who helped make the dream possible. Being part of the Prix de Lausanne 2027 video selections was an honor and left me wishing more young dancers would give themselves the chance. Congratulations to this year’s selected candidates and everyone who helped them get here! I can’t wait to cheer you on in February. Thank you, Prix de Lausanne, for having me and trusting me with this responsibility. Meet the candidates, discover their stories, and start rooting for this extraordinary next generation. ✨ Head to the link in my bio for my Substack reflection and the selected candidates list. #PrixDeLausanne #PrixDeLausanne2027 #Ballet #YoungDancers #BalletCommunity 29 Oct 2026 Dancers, we appreciate you! Ballet belongs to everyone ✨ Happy World Ballet day 🫶 29 Oct 2026 A theatre is so much more than a stage. 🩰 Some of my most treasured memories in ballet aren’t from performances, but from the quiet moments in between — the friendships backstage, the familiar corridors, the people who make a theatre feel like home. Having danced in companies across Russia, Europe, Asia and America, I’ve been reflecting on what it really means for a dancer to belong somewhere, and how the places we work shape not only our art, but our lives. In my latest Substack, What a Theatre Holds, I share a few personal memories and thoughts on the importance of repertoire, community, and building a lasting home for ballet. I’d love to hear what makes a theatre feel like home to you. 🤍 Read the full essay on Substack — link in bio. joywomack.substack.com/p/what-a-theatre-holds first photo by @karolinakuras 25 Oct 2026 Beyond the stage, dance brings us together. Our principal dancer @joy.womack shares the importance of dance not only as an art form, but as a way to unite those around us. Nouveaux Ballets Russes explores the power of dance to connect us, both on and beyond the stage. #nouveauxballetsrusses #ballet #firenze #florence 24 Oct 2026 For three years, I’ve been working toward a place where dancers can train, create, and feel welcome in Paris. A place to keep dancing and choreographing, and to help other artists build something of their own. That vision is taking shape at @paris_epicentre in the 12th arrondissement, home to our resident company, Maison de Danse Paris. Corps Paris will also have a physical presence here, offering classes. The space will be available to Paris’s freelance dance community—for rehearsals, teaching your own classes, and developing work through residencies. We have a sprung dance floor, with heartfelt gratitude to @spectat_planchers for helping make this possible. There’s still work ahead, but I believe great things can start with a few people coming together and making room for one another. I started my Substack because I wanted room to share the story behind all of this: the work, the doubts, the faith, and the love that keeps me going. My life as a dancer, and what it means to build something I once needed myself. My first letter, “A Place to Begin,” is an invitation into that story—and into this space. Whether you live in Paris or are passing through, we’d love to welcome you. Read my first letter, “A Place to Begin,” through the link in @joywomack’s Stories. Subscribe to follow along. For classes, rehearsal space, or residency enquiries, send us a message. 🤍 📍 Epicentre · 28 Rue Antoine-Julien Hénard · Paris 12e thank you @karolinakuras for your photos! 21 Oct 2026 My little Parisian prince turns SIX! 🐩🎂 Celebrating six years with my favourite little companion, a few Parisian strolls, sweet treats, and lots of love. Happy birthday, Rocky! 🤍🐾 20 Oct 2026 Struggling to maintain your turnout? The secret isn’t in your feet! 🩰 Beautiful turnout starts with strength, control, and understanding where your rotation comes from. Floor barre is one of my favorite ways to work on turnout without the added challenge of balancing. By taking gravity out of the equation, we can focus on deep external rotation, alignment, and keeping our heels forward without forcing our feet. I’m so grateful for the amazing Yasna Stevovich, who has taught me so much since I moved to Paris. Her knowledge and approach to floor barre have been such a gift to my own practice, and I love being able to share some of what I’ve learned with you. 🤍 ✨ Join me on my YouTube channel this Monday for a full floor barre class designed to help you build stronger, healthier turnout! Subscribe so you don’t miss it, and save this reel to practice with me! 🤍 #FloorBarre #BalletTraining #BalletTechnique #Turnout #BalletExercises BalletDancer DanceTraining 18 Oct 2026 Everything I do to prep my pointe shoes, step by step. Comment SHOES and I’ll send you my free guide. 🩰 (This is what works for me. Ask your teacher or fitter before changing your own shoes.) #pointeshoe #pointeshoefitting 13 Oct 2026 Strong pointe work starts long before you put on your pointe shoes. 🩰🤍 Lately, I’ve been focusing on rebuilding strength, stability, and control in my feet. It’s a reminder that even after years of dancing professionally, there is always something to improve, strengthen, or rediscover. These little exercises may look simple, but they make such a difference! My goal is to feel equally strong and supported on both sides, especially when working on one leg. Progress isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about going back to the basics and doing them better. ✨ What are your favorite exercises for strengthening your feet? #BalletTraining #PointeWork #BalletTips #DancerStrength #BalletTechnique 07 Oct 2026
