The concept behind our new album Without/Within is an album about the human condition in the surrounding world. It reflects on the boundary our consciousness draws between “without” — the outer universe — and “within” — the inner world, as well as the interconnectedness of all things. Human beings, like all living matter, are part of the evolving fabric of the universe. Consciousness allows us to look both inward and outward, asking, “What’s happening here? Who are we?” The band seeks a balance between three states: the individual and their mind, the world as it’s perceived, and the unknown that exists beyond perception. I am waiting for you last summer — Without/Within Without/Within is a meditation on the shifting boundaries between self, universe, and the unknown. It explores consciousness as both a bridge and a barrier, dissolving the illusion of separation between the individual and the vast cosmos. Immersive and deeply visual, Without/Within invites the listener to drift through its shifting landscapes, where the personal, the infinite, and the yet-unseen converge. Sonically, Without/Within unfolds as a vast, textural expanse where towering guitars, epic percussion, and vaporous vocals merge into a hypnotic flow. Quiet Sun is probably one of the fastest tracks we’ve ever made. We literally finished it in one day. Back then, we used to meet up on weekends in Bali — and somehow, this one just came together in a single session. It fit the sunset perfectly that evening. It felt great to capture that feeling in the music, and later to share it live on stage.
