Not getting much from your lower half? Match the drill to the problem. The goal is simple: give yourself a clearer feel for the part of the delivery you're missing. 1. No back-leg drive? Try the single-leg rebound drill. Load into the back leg, rebound under control, then carry that rhythm into the throw instead of trying to muscle it with your arm. 2. Can't feel the hinge? Try the foam-pad drill. With the back foot on the pad, make small, controlled pulses into the back hip before moving into the throw. Feel the hip accept the load rather than just bending the knee. 3. Weak or collapsing front side? Use the mound throw shown here to work on accepting the landing and rotating over a supported front leg. Don't force the knee to lock. Every athlete is different. Use the drill that fits what you're working on, not all three just because they're here. Save this for your next session. Need help identifying your next step? Comment “mobility” if you’re interested in improving yours! #baseball #mobiltity #velo 90 likes · 2 comments · 29 Oct 2026 The only time I faced Big Papi the AB started off 0-2. 93, called strike. 95, fouled off. Then an 88 mph slider buried below the zone. Three pitches, all well executed. Shift’s on, and Papi almost never beats you the other way. So naturally, he reaches down and flicks that slider the other way for a single. You can win every part of an at-bat and still lose the at-bat. Control what you can: hit your spots, trust your stuff. Everything after the ball leaves your hand belongs to the game. Baseball is baseball. #baseball #MLB #Pitching #Pitchingcoach #pitchingtips 42 likes · 1 comments · 28 Oct 2026 I went almost 2 weeks without throwing a single pitch on a big league roster. When my name got called, I was ready. Here's how: 1. Touch the mound as often as possible. The mound is your office. 2. Simplify. There's a million things in this game you can't control. 3. Be flexible. Adapting to your environment is a skill. Baseball is chaos. Starter gets knocked out. Bullpen's taxed. You're in, feeling it or not. Stay ready so you don't have to get ready. Want a routine that keeps you ready all season? Follow and DM "READY." #pitching #baseball #pitchingcoach #mlb #pitchgrips 94 likes · 8 comments · 22 Oct 2026 Tomorrow is where good intentions can go to die. The weather's bad. No time. No catcher. I've heard every one of them, and I've used every one of them. Some days I had a catcher. Most days I didn't. Nobody is handing you a facility or the perfect setup. A driveway and a piece of cardboard will do. The ones who show up when nobody's watching are the ones who make it. Stop looking for reasons why you can't. Not sure what your next steps are? Submit video from behind and the side at gudbaseball.com/breakdown and we'll break down your mechanics within 24-48 hours. #pitching #gudbaseball #velocity #pitchingdrills #pitchingcoach 101 likes · 6 comments · 20 Oct 2026 STOP OVERTHINKING ON THE MOUND 👇 3 mental cues that got me through 7 years in the big leagues: 1. You have the ball. Nothing happens until you throw it. When the game speeds up, step off, take a deep breath, and get back on when you’re ready. Find a pace that works for you. 2. Less is more. When you’re struggling, the instinct is to try harder, grip it tighter, muscle up. That tension pulls you out of sync. Hands loose, shoulders down — fast, free, and easy. 3. The next pitch. Whatever just happened is over. Carrying it into the next pitch only makes the spiral worse. Find your reset, lock in, and get ready for the next one. #pitching #pitchingcoach #pitcher #mlb #baseball 156 likes · 10 comments · 14 Oct 2026 If you're catching the inside of the mound with no balance on the back side, you're going to shoot forward — whether you push off the toe or the heel. You're already in a position to fall. The fix: nestle your foot right up against the rubber and FEEL the mound before you go. In the windup you've got time — do it twice if you need to. Then push through the heel. Result: better foot placement AND better tempo. Save this for your next bullpen. #baseball #mlb #pitchingcoach #pitcher #velocity 78 likes · 0 comments · 11 Oct 2026 The easy move is to give in and throw a fastball. The better move is to trust your off-speed and throw it with conviction. When you mix pitches in all counts, hitters can’t sit on just one. Most hitters look for one pitch in one zone and adjust only if they have to. Predictable patterns let them cheat on the pitch they want. Being unpredictable in hitter’s counts is the difference between getting hit hard and getting outs. #baseball #pitchingcoach #pitchingvelo #pitcher #mlb 87 likes · 4 comments · 07 Oct 2026 (no caption) 133 likes · 11 comments · 05 Oct 2026 (no caption) 09 May 2025 DR 🇩🇴 245 likes · 6 comments · 29 Dec 2024 MX 🇲🇽 468 likes · 11 comments · 28 May 2023
