šŸ”„šŸ”„ The Ruben’s Share Their Band Song šŸ”„šŸ”„ We always love it when The Rubens swing by for a chat, especially when they have new music and a massive Aussie tour on the way! We also got their ultimate band song which happens to be Australian to ;) Full chats up now wherever you get your podcasts šŸŽ§ 02 Nov 2026 5 Raves in 5 Days. Matt and Alex - @matt.and.alex - have been hitting the road, and it turns out they’ve been behind some of the biggest rave anthems for years. Humble about it, too. The tour wraps up tomorrow night in Melbourne, and there’s a big night planned. Remaining tickets can be found in their bio, along with links to their brilliant Matt & Alex podcast on @listnrau Matt & Alex Rave Blue Monday 01 Nov 2026 Love is a key lyrical theme on @therubens sixth studio album out today, Group Therapy. From the pain of watching a former partner find happiness with someone else on ā€˜Are You Getting High’, to the couple embarking on a chaotic, unhinged night in ā€˜Goanna’ and the melodically-rich yet lovelorn waltz of ā€˜No Champagne’, while the gentle ā€˜Every Piece Of Me’ is a nostalgic take on a relationship whose flaws are softened by hindsight. There is joy in the record too – the up-tempo soul-stomp of closer ā€˜Oh Saturday’ and the euphoric rush of ā€˜Hotel Hotel’ – and there is sadness, most poignantly in the character study of addiction that is ā€˜Close Ups’. Referring to Group Therapy as his first sober album, in hindsight Sam can see he’d hit ā€œa low pointā€ after a self-described ā€œbooze-relatedā€ breakdown. This episode contributed to the naming of the album. ā€œSam went to therapy, and was talking about how it was helping him,ā€ explains brother and bandmate Elliott Margin. ā€œAnd ā€˜group’ was a part of that – we’re a group. We’re in it together. And how do people often experience music? Together. Live shows are our favourite part of being in a band. That’s pretty much a group therapy experience for us.ā€ Through the fresh lens of sobriety and the band’s version of group therapy, Sam says ā€œNow I’m just enjoying the process. Being with my mates and making music is awesome and my anxiety has gone so much.ā€ Fifteen years into their career – one that’s yielded five ARIA Top 5 albums and a myriad of Gold and Platinum singles – that group therapy is as potent as ever. @growyourselfup @the_annex 15 Oct 2026 Join former triple j breakfast titans @matt.and.alex as they dust off their tune rags and legionnaires hats to bring back their iconic 5 RAVES in 5 DAYS tour for its 10th anniversary, all to celebrate the launch of the new Matt and Alex podcast. The lads’ bones might be a little more brittle and the hair has definitely thinned, but that’s not going to stop them - or you - from donning the fluro and thrusting pelv to the freshest A-grade tunas ever to be released onto the d-floor. So book the babysitter, grab a new pair of speed dealers from the servo sunnies rack and prepare yourself for 5 RAVES IN 5 DAYS, absolutely stuffed to the gills with powerhouse DJs and special guests! 14 Oct 2026 Congratulations to VSPY VSPY on taking out #1 and #2 on this weeks ARIA Australian Albums Chart with their two albums from 1986, ā€œHarry’s Reasonsā€ and ā€œA.O. Mod. TV. Vers.ā€ The band also enjoy their first time in the ARIA Albums top 10 with both titles breaking through at #7 and #8 respectively. ā€œHarry’s Reasonsā€ first debuted at #42 in 1986, and ā€œA.O. Mod. TV. Vers.ā€ peaked at number 12 in 1987. VSPY VSPY also take out the 4th and 5th spots on the Vinyl Chart as well as 4 and 6 on the On Replay Catalogue Albums Chart. The band hold three spots on the Australian On Replay Albums Chart, with Live at the Prince of Wales 1984 entering at number 18. VSPY VSPY kick off their sold out 40th anniversary tour celebrating both records in Perth and Adelaide this weekend. @selectmusic @bronwyntaskerpr 09 Oct 2026 One month out from releasing their sixth studio album, Group Therapy, @therubens announce Part 2 of their Group Therapy Tour, adding ten more shows to an already extensive national tour. Set to take them to every corner of the country, the 24-date tour will see the band connect with audiences across Australia as they celebrate their most ambitious and emotionally resonant body of work yet. The fourth single from The Rubens upcoming Group Therapy album, ā€˜No Champagne’, captures the familiar instinct to pretend you’re fine while you’re quietly falling apart. Beneath the bravado and swagger is the impulse to keep the night going, to hold on to whatever’s left, to postpone the inevitable morning when there’s nothing left to distract you from the truth. ā€˜No Champagne’ finds the humour in that contradiction without losing sight of the hurt, turning the end of love into something messy, human and relatable. @growyourselfup @the_annex 20 Sep 2026 Fifteen years into an extraordinary career - one that’s yielded five ARIA Top 5 albums and a myriad of Gold and Platinum era-defining singles - Aussie alt-rock iconsĀ @therubens now enter an exciting new chapter with the announcement of their sixth studio album,Ā Group Therapy (out Oct 16), alongside an extensive national tour set to take them to every corner of the country. Harry’s Reasons arrived on Midnight Oil’s Powderworks label in February - raw, political and rooted in the inner-city Sydney squat scene which the band called home. A.O. Mod. TV. Vers. featuring the single ā€˜Don’t Tear It Down’ followed in December on WEA spawning a Gold album award and peaking at #12 nationally. Forty years on those records sound less like nostalgia and more like the six o’clock news we’re watching today. The band - who once supported The Clash at the Capitol Theatre and U2 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre - are hitting the road this October for five shows across Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne celebrating the 40th anniversary of both albums with a night that’s as much a conversation as it is a concert. Bloxy has put together a star-studded powerhouse band who’ll be smashing out songs from both albums along with the classic hits the fans know well. Some of these songs haven’t been played in 35 years, so these are going to be very, very special nights indeed. Over a decade of recordings, VSPY VSPY built a catalogue that captured one of the most politically charged periods in Australian music - yet for years, almost none of it has been available in physical format. To coincide with the tour, both Harry’s Reasons and A.O. Mod. TV. Vers. will be reissued on limited coloured vinyl - making them the only recordings from that era to have seen a modern release, and a rare opportunity for long-time fans and new listeners alike to own the music in a tangible form. Pre-orders are open now via www.harryaomod.com.au with copies shipping from October 2nd. It’s been an incredible journey, from busking to becoming one of the country’s most beloved artists. Her new album is fantastic, she has plenty of exciting plans in the works, and did you know she even makes her own guitars? I can’t wait to have Ruby back on the show soon.
