wishbone, the album. august 15th. “this song” out in a week.
over the past two years, i’ve been secretly writing songs. after shows in the basements of the venues, in the sheets of my hotel beds, in narrow gaps between tours— i’d come back home and write all the things i felt nobody wanted to hear. maybe even the things i didn’t want people to hear.
i didn’t tell my friends. i didn’t tell my label. after all, i didn’t know i was making anything, and i had no plan to release any of it. but over time, i began to feel something i’d never felt before. i started to need the music. i listened in airports, in long cab trips, blaring in the shower. in heartbreak, then in joy. i started to play it for my friends, and they started to need it too. in car ride requests with the windows down, in a split pair of wired headphones on the subway home. it became an egregiously niche soundtrack to our own lives in real time, singing just for us.
it felt like the music was reminding me who i am, at an experimental time in my twenties where “who i am” had no definition at all. my driftwood childhood in texas. my lucid summers in london. my blue striped bed sheets in my college apartment. i played the songs to the very first person i’d ever made music with, @dan_nigro , and i began to record. i didn’t know why i was recording, i just was. i didn’t know what story i was telling, i was just living in it. slowly i started to see myself in full picture. the slivers of myself i’d always been, but never faced. the songs i’d always been writing, but never singing.
before i knew it i was surrounded by an album.
that album is wishbone.

wishbone deluxe, april 24th. “the best” out in one week.
over the past year of releasing and touring wishbone, i felt like there were a few last things i wanted to say. some pages left to turn. some wishes left to be made. so i hid away in my bedroom, venue basements, hotels, and wrote wishbone deluxe.
these songs are not “songs that didn’t make the album”. they’re all new songs written after wishbone, feelings i could only reach in the aftermath of the album’s release. feelings i couldn’t express in the moment as i wrote wishbone— because i was still very much in the middle of the storm that inspired it. these songs aren’t missed pages, they’re the next chapter.
as i continue the wishbone world tour this year, i hope these songs can continue the story for you, as they have for me. i love these songs. i love this tour. i love wishbone.

the wishbone world tour has finished it’s voyage.
it’s been a few days since i got back from australia. been taking my time processing this whole past year of touring these songs. this was my dream tour, there’s no other way to put it. and it was y’all who made that dream reality, so thank you. thank you thank you thank you.
i’ve been lucky enough to have been touring since i was a teenager. for all of my adult life, i’ve been on the road. every season of touring has been unbelievably memorable, but something about the wishbone world tour felt distinctly different. like something in the universe just kinda clicked, and all of a sudden we were finally together at last.
seeing friendships be made, little inside jokes form over the shows, favorite lyrics become dramatically evident when shouted at the top of your lungs, everyones hands grasping for pieces of wishbone confetti. the beautiful projects you made for me at each stop, that always make me want to happy cry. every little glittering piece of this tour i’ll carry in my pockets home with me. i’ll cherish them forever.
i could ramble on an on about how much this album and tour means to me, but it’s nothing i haven’t said already, and won’t say a thousand times more. i want to thank the talented @eshatewari for serenading us every night on this tour, the incredible band and crew that put together this huge undertaking of a show, and you for caring. just, thank you. you’ve made my dreams come true.

today wishbone turns one year old.
i owe so much to this year of wishbone. wishbone made me discover myself. when i didn’t know who i was, wishbone did. when i didn’t know how to put my feelings into words, wishbone did. it’s been the best friend i could ask for.
it’s hard to believe it’s only been a year. it’s felt like a lifetime. this album brought me all across the world, to stages i could’ve never even dreamed of playing, to countries i’ve felt so incredibly lucky to have been able to witness. it’s allowed me to tell stories i never really was able to put into words until now.
this album felt like a new beginning. i completely shedded all expectation of who i was or what i was supposed to be, and just let myself write. the fact that it was embraced with such open arms from you, truly healed something in me. thank you.
i could talk forever about this album, a year is far from enough. but thank you for this year. thank you for listening. thank you wishbone.
