This is still one of my favorite photos of Upsala. There’s something magical about being snowed in here. The world gets quiet, the old stone walls hold the warmth, and for a little while it feels like you’ve stepped into another century. It’s been a wonderful place to call home. For years, this account was something my partner and I did together, and after we split, it was hard for me to come back. These last few years have brought a lot of change. The house is still standing — and so am I. We danced a little and cried a lot. I grew my hair out, then cut it all off. Willow has a new sister, Juniper. The garden is thriving, and I’ve started some projects I haven’t quite finished. But the world still turns. Now, I’m ready to return — with gratitude for the past, and excitement for what’s ahead.
