#MooreCloser Oval with Points 1968-70 The bronze form represents one of the most successful abstract forms that Moore explored at the end of the 1960s. His work from this period is characterised by dynamic forms and a playful approach to mass and void with a number of works featuring points that almost touch.
Currently part of the wonderful exhibition ‘Monumental Nature’ at @kewgardens The Exhibition runs until January 2027, then will make its way back to Henry Moore Studios & Gardens for spring 2027.

It’s the penultimate weekend of our 2026 season. Visit and discover monumental works in the landscapes that inspired them, shaped them, and bring them to life.
Large Upright Internal/External Form (1980-81) on view at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens.
During his career Moore repeatedly explored the theme of internal/external forms, declaring it one of his favourite subjects. It provided the perfect opportunity to investigate sculptural relationships, generating visual excitement by presenting one form through another, allowing this work to develop in a decidedly organic direction.
