HENI is delighted to present ‘Daffodils’, a series of two Jacquard woven tapestries depicting Sir @brian.clarke_’s lively and hopeful daffodils. 📍 The tapestries are available by application exclusively on HENI Editions until 17:00 GMT on 9 November via our link in bio. 🎨 The edition size of each tapestry is limited to 8 (+ 2 APs). The works measure 260 x 335 cm and are priced at $15,000 each (plus applicable taxes). Each edition is numbered and has an embroidered signature on the verso. 🧑‍🎨 Clarke conceived these works specifically as tapestries, translating the daffodil forms from his original 2019 watercolours into a new medium. For the tapestries, he introduced deep blue and green backgrounds, against which the vibrant yellow petals and slender, tube-like stems come to life. 🖼️ You can see the tapestries in person at HENI Gallery in London until 9 November. #HENI #Art #Daffodils #BrianClarke #Tapestry 29 Oct 2026 “These pictures for me are joyous, and the joy I feel in making them is only rivalled by the joy I feel in sharing them.” – Sir Brian Clarke on his daffodils Hear Sir @brian.clarke_ reflect on his work, sharing his thoughts on the beauty of flowers and the joy of creating and sharing his art. 📍The limited-edition tapestries are available by application exclusively on HENI Editions until 17:00 GMT on 9 November via the link in our bio. 🖼️You can see the tapestries in person at HENI Gallery in London until 9 November. #HENI #Art #Daffodils #BrianClarke #Tapestry 06 Nov 2026 Introducing: Gerhard Richter: STRIP-TOWER (Flipbook)📚 Richter’s ‘STRIP-TOWER (962)’ was created using glossy ceramic tiles that clad two perpendicular panels to create a cruciform structure of 12 faces. Building on his series of ‘Abstract Paintings’ from the 1970s onwards, and ‘Strip Paintings’ made since 2011, with ‘STRIP-TOWER (962)’ the artist moves his explorations into three dimensions. This publication presents the artwork in a mini flipbook that animates the images when pages are flipped, so that the sculpture appears in the round. 📍Explore the book via our link in bio. ‘STRIP-TOWER (962)’ is currently on show for three years as part of @elevation1409 in Sils Maria, Switzerland, presented by LUMA Foundation (@luma_arles). 📸Elevation 1049 #heni #art #gerhardrichter #artbook #hansulrichobrist @hansulrichobrist 05 Nov 2026 Read this painting backwards. 🎨 We usually read Western paintings left to right, the way we read text. Primavera may run the other way, and if you follow it, spring unfolds month by month. On the right is Zephyr, the west wind, who arrives in Italy in March. In the centre is Venus, goddess of love, and April. On the far left is Mercury, whose mother Maia gave her name to May. He waves his wand to clear the last clouds. Summer has arrived. This week on Stories of Art, Botticelli Part 1. James finds it a compelling reading. Alastair thinks it’s a bit too neat. If this is just a calendar, why is Venus at the centre? Even the title isn’t Botticelli’s. It comes from Vasari, writing decades later. Whose side are you on? Part one of two. 🎧 Listen now via our link in bio. I hope he dies.” So the story goes. His father was a doctor who fainted at the sight of blood. He was deeply religious, obsessed with ghosts and monsters, and terrified of almost everything. This week on Stories of Art: ‘Edvard Munch: The Scream’. James and Alastair go back to where it all began, in a family Munch believed was cursed. His mother died of tuberculosis when he was five. His sister Sophie died when he was 14. Looking back on his life, he wrote that sickness, insanity and death were the dark angels standing guard at his cradle. You can see all of it in the paintings. 🎧 Listen now via our link in bio. Don’t forget to hit follow so you never miss an episode! 📷 Edvard Munch, The Sick Child, 1885-86, oil on canvas. In our new HENI Talks film, leading Art Nouveau expert Paul Greenhalgh (@paul_greenhalgh_1893) explores the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, who brought together modern engineering, traditional ceramics and Catalan identity to create a distinctive interpretation of Art Nouveau. 🎬 Watch the full film via the link in our bio. 📚 Want to learn more about Art Nouveau? Van Gogh painted ‘Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette’ during his brief stint at the @royalacademyantwerp. He left after just a few weeks, feeling he was learning nothing, and later called academic training “damned boring.” Seen in this light, the skeleton’s cheeky cigarette may be more than dark humour. Perhaps it serves as rebellious swipe at the art establishment itself. 🖼️ ‘Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette’, Vincent van Gogh, 1885-6. #HENI #Halloween #VincentvanGogh #Art 01 Jan 1970 Who wrote on The Scream? 🎨 In the red sky of the 1893 painting, written faintly in pencil, are the words: could only have been painted by a madman. For most of the last century, people assumed an outraged visitor had scrawled it there. But a few years ago, the National Museum in Oslo examined the handwriting under infrared light. They’re now all but certain Munch wrote it himself. This week on Stories of Art: The Scream’. James and Alastair can’t agree on why. One sees a master of self-publicity, playing up his image as the mad genius. The other sees a man who was afraid, all his life, of going mad. Self-promotion or confession? What do you think? 👇 🎧 Listen now via our link in bio or search Stories of Art: The Scream Don’t forget to hit follow so you never miss an episode! 📷 Edvard Munch, The Scream, 1893, tempera and crayon on cardboard. In this episode of ‘The History of Ceramics’, Paul Greenhaigh (@paul_greenhalgh_1893) and Stephanie Rozene (@politicalpotter) travel back nearly 4,000 years to the island of Crete, exploring the legend of the Minotaur, Sir Arthur Evans’s excavations at Knossos, and the discovery of Minoan writing. But how do you know a painting has really made it? It gets into The Simpsons. 📺 A Sunday on La Grande Jatte went on show at the eighth and final Impressionist exhibition in 1886. Many of the Impressionists didn’t want it there, and Pissarro had to talk them round. It wasn’t especially well received, but it made Seurat’s name. This week on Stories of Art, James and Alastair follow the painting out of the gallery and into popular culture. A hundred years after the scene it shows, Stephen Sondheim turned it into a musical, Sunday in the Park with George. Two years later, in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Cameron stood mesmerised in front of it at the Art Institute of Chicago. That’s where James first saw it. There’s even a park in Columbus, Ohio, where the whole scene has been recreated in topiary. Where did you first see it? Tell us in the comments. 🎧 Listen now via our link in bio. In our latest HENI Talks film, Art Historian Jo Baring (@jobaringart ) explores the visionary work of Henry Moore, from his iconic reclining figures and wartime drawings to monumental outdoor bronzes. Discover how pebbles, elephant skulls and the Yorkshire landscape inspired Moore to transform the human form and redefine modern British sculpture. 🎬 Watch the full film via the link in our bio. 🌿 ‘Henry Moore: Monumental Nature’ is on show at Kew Gardens until 31 January. @henrymoorestudios @KewGardens #HENI #HenryMoore #Sculpture #Art #KewGardens 25 Oct 2026 Before Seurat painted the people, he painted the empty park. 🎨 La Grande Jatte means the great bowl, after the shape of the island in the Seine. Parisians went there on Sundays to fish, go boating and buy waffles. This week on Stories of Art, James and Alastair step inside Seurat’s most famous painting. Alastair sees Seurat as a theatre director. He builds the stage, then auditions his cast, moving figures around until they fit. The people feel like theatrical flats, or wind-up toys that could be wheeled off at any moment. To James it looks like an architect’s plan for a new park, with Photoshopped figures dropped onto the lawn, or little marionettes on a stage set. That isn’t a criticism. Plenty of people think it’s the whole point, and that Seurat is quietly mocking the bourgeoisie in a way he never mocks the workers at Asnières. 🎧 Listen now via our link in bio.
