Her middle-grade debut, My So-Called Family, earned starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly and was a Kirkus Best Book of 2024. In Strays, Campbell sees a dog dumped on the street and has to find a way to help him without telling her dad, who runs the local animal control. It’s a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. BOOKY GOODNESS!! Ten years ago, we Rocked the Word in Iowa! Two days of amazing school visits in Cedar Falls, all 1000% thanks to rockstar educator @jennypaulsen555. BOOKY GOODNESS Summer Update: Last month, I had the supreme pleasure of participating in both LITapalooza and KidLITapalooza, hosted by @andersonsbookshop and sponsored by @sourcebooks and @scholastic (huge thanks to all!) Day 1 was for educators, Day 2 was for young readers. In short, I got to chill for two days with some of the kindest and most talented authors, the most fun and dedicated educators, and fam … genuinely the most curious and talented young people anywhere. Just look at the poetry these incoming 3rd and 4th graders were creating! In mid-July, I had the honor of presenting some writing workshops at the @midwestwritersworkshop at Ball State Unversity in Muncie IN. It was a truly fantastic event that actually had a profound impact on my own writing, as it did on so many of the participants as well. Highly recommend this one to every aspiring writer.
